"MAURY" THROWS "BIGGEST LOSER" CONTESTANT THE WEDDING OF HER DREAMS!

"MAURY": Thursday, January 19 Nationally Syndicated: Check Your Local Listings

NEW YORK -- January 17, 2006 -- On January 19, NBC Universal Domestic Television Distribution's "Maury" welcomes people who have made dramatic transformations in their appearance.

Suzanne Mendonca, of Franklin Square, New York, was one of the 14 contestants on NBC's hit reality show "The Biggest Loser," during its second season. Producers said Suzanne was chosen for the show because of her quick wit and sassy attitude. When she began her quest to lose weight before her wedding, Suzanne weighed in at 229 pounds. At the time of her elimination from the show, Suzanne had already lost 40 pounds.

She is extremely grateful for her experience on the show. "It might be a game here, yes, but you know my work, it's only just begun - it's not over with," Suzanne says. "We won some pretty great stuff, but best of all what I won here is the realization that I finally got me back. You can't ask for a greater present or for a greater gift than that."

Today, Suzanne weighs 142 pounds! "I feel amazing," she says. "I cannot believe that I look like this. I don't want to be that girl ever again. "

Suzanne and her fiance, Michael Rocco, have been waiting to plan a wedding, but they have been having financial difficulties. "Maury" stepped in and decided to make Suzanne's dream come true.

Kleinfeld will be supplying Suzanne with her wedding dress, and dresses for all of her bridesmaids. Tuxedo World is taking care of Michael's tuxedo and tux's for his groomsmen. And best of all, Tavern on the Green in New York's Central Park is scheduled to provide the facilities for the wedding of Suzanne's dreams!

Suzanne says she is planning a June wedding.

"Maury" is taped at NBC Universal's state-of-the-art studios in the heart of Midtown Manhattan and is distributed by NBC Universal Domestic Television Distribution. Paul Faulhaber is executive producer. Stephanie Posner is supervising producer. John Pascarella is senior producer.
