The Winter Olympics Come to Universal Hd This February

THE WINTER OLYMPICS COME TO UNIVERSAL HD THIS FEBRUARY

"Olympic Ice" debuts on Universal HD providing a daily all-access pass inside the Olympic Winter Games' most popular sport - figure skating

BURBANK, Calif. -- February 1, 2006 -- NBC Universal Cable will be featuring over 100 hours of the Winter Olympics from Torino, beginning Friday, February 10th and airing through Sunday February 26th. Universal HD will feature Men's and Women's Ice Hockey coverage and "Olympic Ice" � all in High Definition and 5.1 Dolby surround sound.

The newest addition to the NBC Olympic schedule is "Olympic Ice," a unique programming concept on Universal HD, providing a daily all-access pass inside the Olympic Winter Games' most popular sport - figure skating. The one-hour program, dedicated to an entertaining mix of breaking news, in-depth analysis and exclusive athlete interviews, will provide the most comprehensive coverage ever of the sport. The show will utilize the unparalleled experience of NBC's skating experts and the unique resources of NBC's production team to provide viewers an inside look into the world of Olympic figure skating. "Olympic Ice" launches the day of the Opening Ceremony, Friday, February 10th, and airs nightly through the Games' figure skating competition from 6:00-7:00 pm (ET).

On Monday, February 13th and Tuesday, February 14th, snuggle up with your favorite pooch when "The 130th Westminster Kennel Club (WKC) Dog Show" returns to Universal HD from 8:00pm to 11:00pm (ET). Live coverage of the opening night is featured on Monday 2/13 from 8:00pm to 11:00pm, with closing night coverage on Tuesday 2/14 from 8:00pm to 11:00pm (ET). Encore airings of both nights will take place on Wednesday 2/15 at 7:00pm, Saturday 2/25 at 1:00pm and Sunday 2/26 at 1:00pm (ET).

Following "The Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show" closing night, Universal HD will premiere "The Incredible Dog Challenge" from St. Louis, on Tuesday, February 14th at 11:00pm (ET) with an encore airing on Sunday 2/26 4:00pm (ET).

For the first time ever in High Definition, Universal HD is premiering the series "Quantum Leap" for 2006. Viewers can see Sam's (played by Scott Bakula) first leap into the past and experience his continuing quest to leap home, for the first time in high definition. It has been re-mastered in 1080i from the original negatives and reframed in 16x9 exclusively for the Universal HD audience.

The regular schedule for "Quantum Leap" will be Monday through Fridays at 1:00pm and 6:00pm (ET). Fans can catch a "Quantum Leap" Marathon beginning on Saturday, 2/18 at 11:00pm (ET) with "Genesis" (the two hour pilot) and "Star-Crossed June 15, 1972."
