JOANNA MASSEY NAMED SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT, COMMUNICATIONS, WEST COAST, CBS CORPORATION

Joanna Massey, who has served as UPNs top publicity executive since 2001, has been named Senior Vice President, Communications, West Coast, CBS Corporation, a newly created position at the networks parent company, it was announced today by Gil Schwartz, Executive Vice President, Communications, CBS Corporation.

In her new position -- reporting to Chris Ender, Senior Vice President, Communications, CBS -- Massey will support campaigns and announcements on the West Coast connected to content-related activity across CBS Corporations existing programming operations and emerging new businesses. She will also serve as the companys West Coast communications point person for CBS.com and its growing line-up of original programming, as well as other new media ventures.

Joanna is a first-class public relations executive who has guided campaigns of great style and substance to elevate the profile of UPN and its programming, said Schwartz. As our new Corporation continues to grow its content operations, media businesses and establish footprints in new areas, we look forward to her coming on board, adding another creative communicator and strategist to our communications team.

Joanna has been a key part of my team at both CBS and UPN, and Im excited to work with her again in this new capacity, said Ender. She is a PR person whose energy and capacity to generate ideas has no boundaries, and she knows how to channel it all into effective campaigns to benefit and enhance our programming. As youve seen from the announcements in its inaugural month, the CBS Corporation is aggressively moving its content across many platforms, and we look forward to utilizing Joannas skills and talents to develop new and creative ways to support these efforts.

Massey has been Senior Vice President, Media Relations, UPN since April 2001, overseeing the Networks public relations and business communications areas. From 1998-2001, Massey was Vice President, Marketing and New Business Development at LMNO Productions, where she was responsible for overseeing the production companys efforts to expand into interactive TV and the Internet.

Prior to that, Massey was a publicist at CBS and worked for the public relations firm Fleishman-Hillard.
