CBS TELEVISION STATIONS DIGITAL MEDIA GROUP PARTNERS WITH blinkx TO BROADEN USER ACCESS TO ITS VIDEO CONTENT

Thousands of Hours of Local Video Content Now Fully Searchable As Part of CBS's "Always On" Digital Media Initiative

The CBS Television Stations Digital Media Group has partnered with blinkx, one of the leading search engines for multi-media content, to make thousands of hours of localized content fully searchable online at www.blinkx.tv. Users of blinkx.tv will now be able to find local news, weather, entertainment and traffic updates, as well as catch up on neighborhood current affairs, by searching locally-produced video content that is available on the CBS Television Stations' websites.

The CBS Television Stations will add several thousand hours of local news video to blinkx's growing list of content partners. Search queries will link users directly into relevant video segments located on the station's website.

"This partnership with blinkx is important for us in that it broadens the opportunities for users to have exposure to our unique local video content through the growing area of video search," said Jonathan Leess, President and General Manager, CBS Television Stations Digital Media Group. "The award-winning news departments at our local TV stations are the best in the business, and creating broader access to their reports is a critical component of our strategic digital media plans."

"This partnership will make local video content more accessible than ever before, which is why this relationship with CBS Television Stations is such an exciting development," said Suranga Chandratillake, CTO and founder, blinkx. "The video content of the group's 39 local stations will bring more personalized and locally relevant search results to our users throughout the country, and we're delighted to be working with them to make this happen."

CBS Television Station's "Always On" digital media initiative is a nationwide, ambitious project focused on expanding the CBS owned television stations local, relevant text, graphical and video content to the at-work, at-home, on-demand and on the move' consumer, 24 hours a day.

The group has re-launched new websites for the majority of its CBS stations, including Austin, (keyetv.com), Pittsburgh (kdka.com), Dallas (cbs11tv.com), Salt Lake City (kutv.com), Los Angeles (cbs2.com), Minneapolis (wcco.com), Denver (cbs4denver.com), San Francisco (cbs5.com), Chicago (cbs2chicago.com), Baltimore (wjz.com), New York (wcbstv.com), Philadelphia (kyw.com), Boston (cbs4boston.com), Sacramento (cbs13.com), Green Bay (wfrv.com), and most recently, Miami (cbs4.com).
