[via press release from A&E]

A&E NETWORK'S CRITICALLY ACCLAIMED SERIES THE FIRST 48 (tm) RETURNS FOR A FOURTH SEASON OF RIVETING NEW EPISODES BEGINNING THURSDAY, JUNE 15, 9-10PM EST/PST

New York, NY, June 13, 2006 - If a murderer is going to be caught, the case must to be made within a brutally short timeframe, by a relentless, smart and dedicated crime fighting team. A&E's hit real-life series THE FIRST 48 (tm) follows homicide detectives from around the country as they race to solve mysterious and harrowing murders before time runs out. The fourth season of THE FIRST 48 (tm) premieres on Thursday, June 15, 1006 at 9PM EST / PST and 8PM CST.

LOVED TO DEATH -- In Miami, Florida, detectives Fernando Bosch and Ricky Martinez are called to a wealthy high-rise condo where they find a grisly crime scene -- a bathroom covered with blood. To track down the killer, investigators follow a blood trail that leads them out of the building and into a hair-raising manhunt.

UNMASKED -- In Memphis, Tennessee, Sergeant Caroline Mason and her team respond to a convenience store shooting, where surveillance cameras captured the last few moments of a man's life. Investigators must sift through the footage for clues that will point them to the killer.

A cross between Law & Order and CSI, THE FIRST 48 (tm) takes viewers behind the scenes of real-life investigations like they've never been seen on television, with unprecedented access to crime scenes, forensic processing, interrogations, and manhunts. From the moment homicide detectives "catch a murder," the viewers follow every step of the investigation, until the frantic chase ends with an arrest...or at a dead-end. Every hour-long episode features one or two gripping cases, each with an on-screen running clock that builds the tension as 48 hours inexorably expires. Filmed in Miami, Memphis, Dallas and Phoenix, THE FIRST 48 (tm) has no actors, no recreations, no scripts...this is all real.

The Executive Producers for A&E Network are Laura Fleury and Nancy Dubuc. THE FIRST 48 (tm) is produced by Granada America for A&E Network. The Executive Producers for Granada America are Charles Tremayne and John X. Kim. The Series Producer for Granada America is Wendy Greene.
