ABC's "Ugly Betty" Look-Alikes Make the Scene at Spring 2007 New York Fashion Week!

[via press release from ABC]

ABCS UGLY BETTY LOOK-ALIKES MAKE THE SCENE AT SPRING 2007 NEW YORK FASHION WEEK!

Ugly truly is the new beautiful, at least thats how it looked at Bryant Park as a team of Betty Ugly Betty Suarez look-alikes attended this years New York Fashion Week. Leading up to the premiere of the new ABC series, the Ugly Bettys got their feet/ponchos wet in the world of high fashion by showing up at various shows and events throughout fashions biggest week.

On behalf of Mode Magazine, Ugly Betty Suarez sat front row at Anna Suis spring 2007 show. In addition to this diva-esque sighting, Bettys appeared throughout the week with the likes of Vogue editor-at-large Andre Leon Talley, R&B and Broadway sensation Usher, pop star Hilary Duff, tennis pro Serena Williams, Elle fashion director and Project Runway judge Nina Garcia, Erika Kristensen from Six Degrees, Gina Gershon from Ugly Betty and designer/stylist Patricia Field.

The highly anticipated premiere of Ugly Betty airs THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 28 (8:00-9:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.

ABOUT UGLY BETTY

If you took a moment to get to know Betty Suarez, youd see how sweet, intelligent and hard-working she is. But few people do, because in the world of high fashion, Betty is the oversized peg in the petite round hole.

When publishing mogul Bradford Meade hands the reins of Mode, the bible of the fashion industry, over to his son, Daniel, he specifically hires Betty as his sons new assistant mostly because shes the only woman in NYC Daniel wont sleep with. Though this player is reluctant to accept her at first, Bettys indomitable spirit and bright ideas will eventually win him over. Neither of them really knows the ins and outs of the fashion world, but the two are a formidable team against those who will do anything to see them fall.

Ugly Betty stars America Ferrera as Betty Suarez, Eric Mabius as Daniel Meade, Alan Dale as Bradford Meade, Tony Plana as Ignacio, Ana Ortiz as Hilda, Ashley Jensen as Christina, Becki Newton as Amanda, Mark Indelicato as Justin and Vanessa Williams as Wilhelmina Slater. Recurring guest stars are Michael Urie as Marc and Kevin Sussman as Walter.

Based on Yo Soy Betty La Fea, the groundbreaking Colombian telenovela that became an international phenomenon, Ugly Betty is from Touchstone Television. Academy Award nominee and Emmy Award winner Salma Hayek is executive producer, along with Silvio Horta (Urban Legends), Ben Silverman, (The Office), Jose Tamez (The Maldonado Miracle), James Parriott (Greys Anatomy) and James Hayman (Joan of Arcadia).
