Jeff Gregor Named Chief Marketing Officer for TBS and TNT

Newly Created Position Will Head Consolidated Network Marketing and On-Air Departments

As part of a plan to consolidate the TBS and TNT marketing and on-air departments, Jeff Gregor has been named chief marketing officer for TBS and TNT, it was announced today by Steve Koonin, executive vice president and chief operating officer for the networks. In his new role, Gregor will oversee all entertainment marketing and on-air promotions units for both networks, as well as their digital extensions. He is based in Atlanta and reports to Koonin.

We are a portfolio business, so as TNT and TBS continue to grow, the volume of projects on the networks and the clarity of our brands dictate a need for a central person to manage the marketing and promotional aspects of the portfolio, said Koonin. Jeff brings tremendous marketing experience and a proven track record to this critical role, and his work will be crucial as the networks consolidate their resources to maximize, maintain and build upon our success in the marketplace.

Under the network consolidation plan, Gregor will oversee the TBS and TNT marketing division, with Tricia Melton, senior vice president of marketing, reporting to him. In addition, the on-air creative and operations team, headed by Michael Borza, senior vice president of on-air, will fall under Gregors auspices. Gregor will also oversee digital extensions for the networks, such as TBS and TNTs recently announced broadband destinations.

Gregor, who joined TNT in 2000, most recently served as senior vice president of sports marketing and programming for TNT and TBS, responsible for developing and implementing high-impact marketing programs for the networks sports and sports-related programming, including award-winning campaigns for the NBA and NASCAR. He has also been in charge of strategic planning and scheduling of sports programming on-air, management of contractual agreements and oversight of the sports units for both TNT and TBS.

Among Gregors accomplishments at the networks are acclaimed and highly entertaining promotional campaigns for the NBA All-Star game and its surrounding events, as well as the transition of the All-Star game to TNT. He has worked with such notables as Spike Lee and Sacha Baron Cohens alter ego Ali G on the award-winning NBA campaigns.

Prior to joining TNT, Gregor served as director of sports asset management for The Coca-Cola Company, where he led the marketing management and system utilization of key sponsorships with NASCAR, the NFL, the NBA, the NHL and Major League Baseball. Before that, he worked with Wunderman Cato Johnson, a Young and Rubicam marketing services agency, overseeing the Miller Brewing account group. He has also held marketing sales positions with the Cleveland Indians and Philadelphia Phillies. Gregor, a native of East Chicago, Ind., holds a bachelor of arts in economics from Albion College.
