LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- Summer newcomers "Blade" and "Three Moons Over Milford" have both been given the axe, representatives from their respective networks confirmed this week.
Spike TV's "Blade" opened to a stellar 2.5 million viewers on June 28 but its viewership quickly fell to less than 1 million viewers by its final weeks. The news, originally broken by co-star Jill Wagner on her MySpace.com page earlier this week, was eventually confirmed by Spike TV on Friday.
As for ABC Family's "Milford," the dramedy stumbled out of the gate on August 6 with just 1.6 million viewers tuning in, while subsequent episodes declined even further. The news comes in spite of a strong summer for the cable channel, which issued renewals to both "Falcon Beach" and "Kyle XY." The pair will join the third season of "Wildfire," newcomer "Lincoln Heights" and sequels to "Fallen" as part of the network's 2007 line-up.
