U.S. Open, Stanley Cup, Action Sports and Movies are June Highlights

BURBANK, Calif. - June 4, 2007 - Universal HD explodes with an incredible variation of sporting events in June. From golf to hockey to extreme sports, Universal HD gives fans VIP access right in the comfort of their homes.

"We are proud to have premiere sporting events launching Universal HD's summer schedule in June," said Dan Harrison, Senior Vice President Emerging Networks, NBC Universal Cable. "The U.S. Open, Stanley Cup and our slate of action sports puts viewers into the heart of the action."

At 8am (ET) on Thursday, June 14 Universal HD offers a special sports presentation with the live tee-off of the 2007 U.S.G.A. U.S. Open Championship. All four rounds of this premiere golfing event will be captured in native 1080i High Definition with 5.1 Dolby surround sound.

The live action continues on Friday, June 22 and Saturday, June 23 for the return of a fan-favorite, the AST Dew Tour's 2007 The Panasonic Open live from Baltimore, Maryland at 12am (ET).

Universal HD hockey enthusiasts have a second chance to catch the biggest game of the year, the 2007 NHL Stanley Cup. Viewers are in luck because an encore of games 3 through 7 will air in native 1080i High Definition with 5.1 Dolby surround sound in the following schedule:

A Father's Day celebration on Universal HD is overflowing with all the things dads love best-action packed sports and movies. UniHD rises and shines early on Sunday, June 17 with two leading men, Clint Eastwood stars in Joe Kidd at 6am and 9:30am (ET) and Richard Burton leads the Raid on Rommel at 7:30am and 4pm (ET). The afternoon is slated with Northern Exposure episodes starting at 11am (ET) and then stay tuned for a round of poker at the National Heads Up Poker Championship at 2pm (ET). Universal HD brings in heavy hitters to finish out the night beginning at 6pm (ET) with Daniel Day-Lewis in The Boxer, Roy Scheider and Richard Dreyfuss in Jaws at 8pm (ET) and the final round of the U.S.G.A. U.S. Open Championship at 10pm (ET).

The very best selection of films in high definition is far from absent in this month's schedule. UniHD heats up viewer's summer nights in June during a movie-mania weekend. On Friday, June 29, Ride the Wild Surf opens the weekend at 6pm and 12am (ET), followed by Flipper at 8pm (ET) and Jaws at 10pm (ET). Saturday offers another great lineup on June 30 with Calendar Girl at 4pm and 11pm (ET), Flipper at 6pm (ET), The Truth About Charlie at 9pm (ET), Wind at 2am (ET) and The Legend of Billie Jean at 4am (ET). The weekend concludes Sunday, July 1 with White Water Summer at 8pm (ET) and Side Out at 11pm (ET).

Universal HD cordially invites viewers to an evening of June weddings. On Sunday, June 24, catch The Best Man at 8pm (ET), Monk gets married at 10pm and The Guru wraps up the night at 11pm (ET).

NBC Universal's horror network, Chiller brings suspense to Universal HD in June. Audiences should get ready to feel fear in the most intense form, as these chilling presentations in HD will be eye-popping.
