NEW YORK, August 6, 2007 -- As part of "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart's" ongoing "Indecision 2008" coverage of the 2008 presidential election, the show will host four presidential aspirants during the month of August as Senators Joe Biden (August 8), John McCain (August 16) and Barack Obama (August 22) and former Wisconsin Governor Tommy Thompson (August 20) all make a campaign stop to "The Daily Show's" midtown Manhattan studio.

"The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" airs Monday-Thursday at 11:00 p.m. ET/PT and repeats at 1:00 a.m. the same night and at 10:00 a.m., 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. the following day. All interviews will be posted for viewing the following day at both www.comedycentral.com and www.indecision2008.com with URL and embed links.

The August 16 appearance by Senator McCain (R-Ariz.) marks the tenth time McCain has been on "The Daily Show," with his most recent appearance occurring on April 24, the eve of his official announcement seeking the Republican nomination. Senator Biden (D-Del.) will be appearing for the fifth time, the first since his appearance on January 31, the day he officially announced his intention to seek the Democratic nomination. Senator Obama (D-Ill.) will make his way to the studio for the first time, having appeared once before, November 7, 2005, via satellite. The visit by former Governor Thompson (R-Wis.) will be his first to "The Daily Show."

An influential stop on the campaign trail, the show has already featured numerous candidates who have appeared as Stewart's guest after announcing their presidential aspirations including Representative Ron Paul (June 4), New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson (March 28), Senator Chris Dodd (March 12), former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee (January 10) and former Iowa Governor Tom Vilsack (December 18, 2006).

Other politicians who have appeared on "The Daily Show" include former Presidents Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter, former Vice President Al Gore, Senators Hillary Rodham Clinton, Barack Obama, John Kerry, Joseph Lieberman, Bob Kerrey, Charles Schumer, Norm Coleman, Arlen Specter, Ted Kennedy, Trent Lott, Rick Santorum, Russ Feingold, Barbara Boxer, Representatives Nancy Pelosi and Rahm Emanuel, New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani and Senator John Edwards, who announced his intention to run for the 2004 Democratic Presidential nomination during an appearance on the show on September 15, 2003. In addition, General Pervez Musharraf, President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, was Stewart's guest on September 26, 2006, marking the first time a sitting head of state had appeared on the show.

The nine-time Emmy and two-time Peabody Award-winning "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" was launched in the summer of 1996. The nightly news satire takes a reality-based look at news, trends, pop culture, current events, politics, sports, entertainment and the media. In each show, Stewart and a team of correspondents, including Dan Bakkedahl, Samantha Bee, Jason Jones, Aasif Mandvi, John Oliver and Rob Riggle, comment on the day's stories employing actual news footage, taped field pieces, in-studio guests and on-the-spot coverage of important news events. The show recently received six nominations in the 2006-2007 Primetime Emmy Awards competition. Winners will be announced on September 16.

Jon Stewart and David Javerbaum are the executive producers of "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" with Kahane Corn and Josh Lieb serving as co-executive producers. The series' head writer is Steve Bodow. Chuck O'Neil is the director.
