ESPN's Monday Night Football to Feature Fan-Generated Videos

ESPN's Monday Night Football will feature fan-generated videos for the first time in 2007. Throughout the NFL season, fans will be invited to create personalized videos promoting their favorite teams' upcoming MNF appearance and upload them to the "Monday Night Surround" section on ESPN.com. Two videos will be selected each week and shown on the air during MNF. Videos will highlight the teams set to play in the following week's MNF game on ESPN, as fans voice why their team will win the game and why NFL fans should tune-in.

Fans can begin uploading their videos to ESPN.com at any time by visiting: http://myespn.go.com/media/video/home?id=2979622. During the final MNF preseason game Aug. 27, ESPN will select its first videos to be aired as a preview to the Sept. 10 season-opening MNF doubleheader Baltimore Ravens vs. Cincinnati Bengals and Arizona Cardinals vs. San Francisco 49ers. During that doubleheader, ESPN will air one video each from Philadelphia Eagles and Washington Redskins fans in anticipation of the teams' week 2 MNF match-up.

"This is the latest evolution of our innovative multiplatform approach to Monday Night Football, as ESPN celebrates the passion, creativity and spontaneity of NFL fans by giving them the opportunity to turn the cameras on themselves and be part of our weekly game telecast," John Skipper, ESPN executive vice president, content.

In addition to the videos aired on ESPN one per team from the next week's game a select cross-section of submitted videos will be featured online. As part of the selection process, ESPN will review the content to ensure it is suitable, with the winning two videos chosen by the MNF crew. All fans will be able to rate the videos posted on ESPN.com.

ESPN's Monday Night Football video offering is the latest fan-generated video initiative for ESPN, which earlier this year launched SportsCenter "Home Video" and College Football Live "Sound Off." "Home Video" gives fans the chance to submit video of amateur sports highlights with hopes of having them aired on ESPN's flagship highlights, news and information show. "Sound Off" gives fans the opportunity to cheer on ESPN's new weekday afternoon College Football Live about their favorite team, campus, tailgating scene or player to win the Heisman Trophy. Fans can log onto ESPN.com for additional details on how to submit a video for all three shows.
