CBS RADIO NEWS OFFERS AUDIO EDITIONS OF ENTIRE "60 MINUTES" PROGRAMS ON iTUNES PODCASTS

For the first time, entire programs of 60 MINUTES will be available online. CBS Radio News will offer 60 MINUTES' programs via audio podcast free on iTunes, CBSNews.com., and websites of CBS Radio News affiliates.

CBS streams selected excerpts and segments of 60 MINUTES on CBSNews.com and offers abbreviated audio and video versions of 60 MINUTES as podcasts, but this will be the first time that the show will be available for download in its entirety.

"60 MINUTES is perfect for this kind of audio podcasting. Our broadcast has always been built on solid story telling, with or without the pictures," said 60 MINUTES executive producer Jeff Fager. "We've been broadcasting an audio-only version of 60 MINUTES on CBS News Radio for years with great success," he added.

CBS News vice president for Radio Harvey Nagler agrees. "60 MINUTES ON THE RADIO is very popular, and so are the segments we make available online. But there's been a huge demand for a podcast of the whole show. It just makes sense to give users what they want," he said.

60 MINUTES audio podcasts will be available every Sunday at 11:00 PM ET on Apple iTunes, CBSNews.com and CBS Radio News affiliate websites. The podcast begins on September 23, 2007, the 40th season premiere of 60 MINUTES on the CBS Television Network.

60 MINUTES, the CBS News magazine providing a blend of hard-hitting investigative reports, interviews, feature segments and profiles of people in the news, is the most watched television program in U.S. history. It has finished the season as the number-one broadcast a record five times and also holds the record for most consecutive top-10 finishes at 23 straight seasons.

CBS Radio News provides coverage of the hour's top stories and breaking news to more than 500 radio stations across the United States. The newsroom has been honored with numerous Edward R. Murrow awards, including the prestigious industry award for "Overall Excellence for a Radio Network" in 2007.
