FOX REALITY CHANNEL ORDERS SECOND SEASON OF HIGHLY SUCCESSFUL ORIGINAL SERIES "THE ACADEMY" with "THE ACADEMY 2" (working title)

Scott Sternberg Productions Return to Produce

Filming to Begin on Black Monday, November 12

LOS ANGELES Fox Reality Channel, the only all-reality, all-the-time television network, is bringing back the highly successful Fox Reality Channel Original "The Academy," announced today by David Lyle, President, Fox Reality Channel. "Academy 2" (working title) will premiere in May 2008 with filming scheduled to begin Monday, November 12; the recruits first day of training, aka Black Monday.

The groundbreaking first season of "The Academy," brought viewers behind-the-scenes for the first time in history to witness the grueling training process recruits endure to become a Los Angeles County Deputy Sheriff. Season 1 captured the raw emotion, suspense and commitment involved from the recruits, family and extended loved ones.

Current Deputy Sheriffs and their families emotionally recalled their own experiences, many stating the recollection was just as stressful and raw then as now. The LASD staff who demanded the attention and respect of recruits will be back to train another class with the promise of more arresting drama in "Academy 2."

The original series received critical praise from both writers and viewers, which later catapulted the Fox Reality Channel Original onto entertainment broadcast television network, MyNetworkTV earlier this year.

"We are incredibly proud to bring back to audiences such a revealing reality series that focuses on brave individuals who choose to serve the public. Scott and his team did a great job on the inside to bring the human stories to life, and we are happy to have them produce "The Academy 2" with us. We expect this dramatic season to surpass the last", said David Lyle, president, Fox Reality Channel.

"We are delighted to be producing a second season of 'The Academy' with Fox Reality and the Los Angeles Sherriff's Department," said Scott Sternberg, President and Founder of Scott Sternberg Productions." The LASD has been a great partner to us, incredibly accommodating and a wonderful organization to work with. I would like to thank Sherriff Lee Baca and his entire team at the Los Angeles Sherriff's Department for making this fantastic experience possible."

During the first season, cameras followed recruits during a rigorous 18-week process where they were taught and endured self-defense and weapon training, dealing with aggressive assailants, and learning the intricacies of gang warfare, a process that ultimately tests recruits' endurance and often times form life-changing experiences. Filming of the second season is set to begin on recruits' first day of training, Black Monday, November 12.
