LOUIS J. HORVITZ TO DIRECT "60TH ANNUAL PRIMETIME EMMY(R) AWARDS," AIRING SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 21 ON ABC

Five-time Emmy(R) Award recipient Louis J. Horvitz will direct "The 60th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards," it was announced today by executive producer Ken Ehrlich. The show will air SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 21 (8:00-11:00 p.m., live ET/delayed PT) on ABC Television Network from the NOKIA Live.

"'The 60th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards' marks Louis' 13th time to direct the show," said Ehrlich. "Louis is an extremely talented director, and we look forward to working with him to create a memorable Emmy telecast."

In February Horvitz directed "The 80th Annual Academy Awards," marking his 12th year at the helm of the Oscars. He's recently directed the "43rd Annual Academy of Country Music Awards." He last directed the Primetime Emmy Awards in 2006.

Horvitz just completed his 16th stint directing both "The Kennedy Center Honors" and "The American Film Institute Life Achievement Award." This year he completed his 12th year as executive producer-director of "An Evening of Stars" tribute to Smokey Robinson. Horvitz received the prestigious NAACP Image Award for his Tribute to Stevie Wonder benefiting the United Negro College Fund earlier in 2007.

In a career that has spanned more than three decades, Horvitz has helmed many high-profile programs, including "The American Music Awards," "Fashion Rocks," "The MTV-Video Music Awards," "VH-1 Hip Hop Honors," "VH-1 Divas," "VH-1 Concert for New York City" benefiting survivors of 9/11, "U2 Half-Time at the Superbowl XXXVI," "Paul Simon in Central Park," "The Rolling Stones Steel Wheels Tour," "Live Aid" and the Paramount series phenomenon "80's Solid Gold."

Horvitz is a native of Los Angeles, California and earned a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Fine Arts at the University of California at Los Angeles.

"The 60th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards" is being produced by AEG Ehrlich Ventures LLC. Nominations will be announced on July 17 at 5:40 a.m., PT from the Television Academy's Leonard H. Goldstein Theatre in North Hollywood.
