JIMMY KIMMEL, BARBARA WALTERS, SUSAN LUCCI, ANTHONY GEARY, TYRA BANKS AND MONTEL WILLIAMS ARE AMONG THE SCHEDULED PRESENTERS FOR "THE 35th ANNUAL DAYTIME EMMY AWARDS," JUNE 20 ON ABC
Jimmy Kimmel, host of ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live," has been tapped to present his friend and colleague Regis Philbin the Lifetime Achievement Award during ABC's live broadcast of "The 35th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards," FRIDAY, JUNE 20. Mr. Philbin is being honored for more than 40 years in television, including 20 years as co-host of his nationally syndicated talk show. Also among those stars scheduled to appear are Barbara Walters, creator/executive producer and co-host of "The View," "All My Children" star Susan Lucci, Tyra Banks of "The Tyra Banks Show" and Montel Williams who, after 17 years on-air, will end his syndicated talk show.
Additional presenters include: Darnell Williams, Debbi Morgan and Cornelius Smith ("All My Children"); Jake Silbermann and Van Hansis ("As the World Turns"); Jack Wagner and Heather Tom ("The Bold and the Beautiful"); Alison Sweeney, Arianne Zucker and Nadia Bjorlin ("Days of our Lives"); Anthony Geary, Sarah Brown, Laura Wright, Kirsten Storms, Jason Cook and Bradford Anderson ("General Hospital"); Daniel Cosgrove and Marcy Rylan ("Guiding Light"); Susan Haskell, Michael Easton, Kassie DePaiva, Farah Fath and John-Paul Lavoisier ("One Life to Live"); and Melody Thomas Scott, Doug Davidson and Don Diamont ("The Young and the Restless").
As part of an integrated show sponsorship, Kmart will unveil the Kmart Style Lounge, featuring backstage visits with winners and presenters throughout the awards ceremony. Earlier this spring, four style experts had been chosen by the national retailer to serve as "Kmart Style Showoffs," or fashion ambassadors for the brand, given their ability to create stylish ensembles. The four "Kmart Style Showoffs" will appear in interstitials throughout the broadcast with two "Daytime Emmy Style" contest winners, to be chosen online at abc.com/daytime/kmart. The footage will document the ambassadors as they prepare for the big nightselecting wardrobes and fashion accessories, as well as choosing hairstyles and makeup applications.
"The 35th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards" will be broadcast live from Hollywood's famed Kodak Theater and will be hosted by Sherri Shepherd ("The View") and Cameron Mathison ("All My Children"). White Cherry Entertainment will produce, with Ricky Kirshner and Glenn Weiss serving as executive producers.
The awards recognize outstanding achievement in all fields of daytime television production and are presented to individuals and programs broadcast from 2:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. during the 2007 calendar year. "The 35th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards" is a presentation of the National Television Academy in cooperation with the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.
