Sci Fi Channel Scores Its Most Ever Emmy Nominations Including Best Miniseries for 'Tin Man'

'Tin Man' Receives Most Emmy Noms for a SCI FI Original

New York, NY � July 17, 2008 � The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences recognized SCI FI for its breadth of outstanding programming with 16 Emmy nominations � the most nominations the Channel has received in a single year. The impressive haul includes 9 nominations for 2007's highest-rated miniseries, Tin Man, and 6 nods for critical favorite Battlestar Galactica. With its 9 nominations, Tin Man is now SCI FI's most nominated original program for a single year.

In a season where cable programming made a huge showing in nearly all categories, SCI FI received the 4th highest number of nominations in cable behind only HBO (85), Showtime (21) and AMC (20).

Tin Man, produced by RHI Entertainment and SCI FI, was honored with a nomination for Outstanding Miniseries. The epic re-imagining of the classic "Wonderful Wizard of Oz" broke Channel records when it premiered on December 2, 2007 becoming the most watched program in SCI FI's history.
