ONE HOUR SERIES EXPLORING THE DRAMATIC, OFTEN HAIR-RAISING TRUE TALES OF NYPD DETECTIVES AS THEY RELIVE THEIR MOST SHOCKING CASES DEBUTS SEPTEMBER 7 AT 9PM ET/PT

New York, NY, August 19, 2008 As part of its recently announced expanded development slate, Bio Channel will launch two new original series this September, WHY I RAN and WATCHING THE DETECTIVES.

WHY I RAN

Across the country, real-life high-speed police chases rivet viewers to the TV screen. We've heard the eyewitness accounts, seen the police point of view, but no one has ever been able to go inside the mind of the driver...until now. In WHY I RAN, debuting Monday, September 1 at 10:00pm ET/PT on Bio Channel, we hear for the first time from the actual people who have led the police on some of the most dangerous high-speed pursuits ever.

Stories for season one of WHY I RAN include: a single mother of two who runs from police at 140 mph on a crowded San Diego freeway; a man who steals a car from a local dealership and takes police on a pursuit that ends in gunfire; a divorced father of three who goes on a rampage in his 18-wheeler that results in a multiple car pile-up on a Houston freeway; a mother of five with a van full of children who leads police on chase down a two-lane Texas highway: and a young man with his little brother in the passenger seat who leads police on a chase through the streets of Glendale, California, ending in a three car crash.

Executive producers for Bio Channel are Robert Sharenow and Elaine Frontain Bryant. Supervising producer is Jessica Morgan. WHY I RAN is produced for Bio Channel by Intuitive Entertainment. Executive producers are Mechelle Collins and Kevin Dill.

WATCHING THE DETECTIVES

What's the inspiration behind legendary television crime series like "NYPD Blue" & "Law & Order"? WATCHING THE DETECTIVES launching Sunday, September 7 at 9:00pm ET/PT on Bio Channel chronicles the extraordinary, dramatic, often hair-raising true tales of New York City Detectives as they relive the most unbelievable, entertaining, and often shocking cases of their careers. They've seen it all on the streets of New York and these hard-boiled, street savvy larger than life veteran detectives are ready to share their unflinching, first hand accounts for the first time.

Stories in season one of WATCHING THE DETECTIVES include: One detective's attempt to apprehend a small time robbery suspect on the street unexpectedly turns into a heated 36 hour hostage crisis; a detective who has seen it all gets a shocking murder case when the body of a young pregnant teen is discovered dumped beneath an overpass; detectives use their only clue, a uniquely operated cash register, to track down the vicious killers responsible for a double homicide in a local bodega; when detectives investigate the disappearance of a small time loan shark they come across his intimidating bodyguard and quickly learn he's got secrets of his own; undercover cops get a dream assignment to investigate the city's hottest night club. But first they have to make a routine drug buy in the tenement projects where their glamorous dream night turns into a deadly nightmare.

Executive producers for Bio Channel are Robert Sharenow, Tom Moody and Jordana Hochman. WATCHING THE DETECTIVES is produced by Kaufman Films for Bio Channel. Executive Producers are Kevin Kaufman and Rick Tirelli. Series producer is Paul McGuire
