New York, NY � September 24, 2008 � Your weekend just got better with brand new episodes from MTV's award winning series "MADE" (http://made.mtv.com) and "True Life" (http://truelife.mtv.com) premiering on Sunday, October 5th from 1pm to 8pm ET/PT. Starting at 1pm ET/PT MTV's "Made" will highlight the challenges and accomplishments that young people face as they attempt a life-changing transformation with "Made: Figure Skater", "Made: Triathlete", "Made: Football Player", and "Made: Beauty Queen". Then at 5pm ET/PT MTV News & Docs critically acclaimed series "True Life" will focus on three compelling new topics in "I'm A Single Parent", "I'm A Mixed Martial Arts Fighter," and "I'm Living Off The Grid."

Below are detailed descriptions of the MADE and True Life episodes that are scheduled to air from 1pm to 8pm ET/PT:

"Made: Figure Skater" (1:00 pm) - Organized overachiever Whitney Jo is a superior student who's committed to the community. Now she wants to honor the memory of her mother and raise Breast Cancer Awareness by being made into a graceful figure skater. MTV will pair her up with gold medal ice skater, Lauren Shmalo, who will put a freeze on Whitney Jo's studies while she heats up the ice. But will 6 weeks be enough time to sculpt this self-conscious student into an ice princess?

"Made: Triathlete" (2:00pm) - Heavyweight Brandon Baker thought his heft was a big joke until health issues put his life on the line. Now he's ready to take control of his life and his looks by being MADE into a triathlete!

"Made: Football Player" (3:00pm) - Spelling-bee superstar Sidhant can pass his classes with flying colors but can't complete a simple pass on the field. Now he wants to prove to people he can ace more than just his academics by being made into the quarterback of his high school football team. MTV will hook him up with former NFL star Roland Williams who will turn his studious lifestyle upside-down. But will he have enough time for both his studies and his training to master the game in time for tryouts?

"Made: Beauty Queen" (4:00pm) - Kateryna is an academic overachiever with a reputation for being her school's genius. She wants to break out of her bookish routine by being MADE into a glittery, glamorous, beauty pageant queen. With only 1 month till' the pageant can this math whiz go from brainiac to bombshell?

"True Life: I'm A Single Parent" (5:00pm) - Raising a child as a young adult is never easy, but the strain is even more acute when you're doing it all by yourself. This episode of True Life explores the trials and tribulations of three young people who are struggling to raise children on their own.

"True Life: I'm A Mixed Martial Arts Fighter" (6:00pm) � With its explosive combination of kickboxing, wrestling and jiu jitsu, mixed martial arts is one of the most rapidly growing sports in America. But it takes years of grueling training, intense focus and a high threshold for pain to become an MMA star. In this episode of True Life, you'll meet three up and coming MMA fighters as they prepare for the biggest contests of their careers.

"True Life: I'm Living Off The Grid" (7:00pm) � Imagine being so self-sufficient that you don't need public utilities for water or electricity and that your way of life causes little harm to the environment. It's called existing "off the grid"�and as energy costs rise and fossil fuels continue to damage our planet�more and more Americans are giving it a try. On this episode of True Life, you'll meet two young people who are taking green to the extreme by living in the wilderness for an entire year without using modern technology.
