UNIVERSAL MEDIA STUDIOS SIGNS FIRST-LOOK DEAL WITH PRODUCER-ACTRESS JENNIFER LOPEZ AND HER NUYORICAN PRODUCTIONS SHINGLE

UNIVERSAL CITY, CA (Oct. 28, 2008) - Universal Media Studios has signed producer-actress Jennifer Lopez ("Maid in Manhattan," "Selena") and her company, Nuyorican Productions, which she runs with producing partner Simon Fields, to a two-year exclusive first-look television development deal.

The deal - aimed at creating a variety of different television series projects -- was announced today by Ben Silverman, Co-Chairman, NBC Entertainment and Universal Media Studios.

"Jennifer Lopez is a multi-faceted superstar and we are thrilled to be in business with her," said Silverman. "NBC has been fortunate to have worked with her previously with her music specials, and now this first-look deal gives us an opportunity to explore a variety of projects which will result in some outstanding television."

"Universal Media Studio is the perfect home for Nuyorican, and I look forward to a successful, creative partnership," said Jennifer Lopez

Nuyorican Productions develops and produces feature films and television series geared to both mainstream and Latino audiences. Nuyorican was founded in 2003 by Jennifer Lopez and is run by Lopez and veteran producer Simon Fields. The company has produced a wide variety of projects including SHALL WE DANCE, which grossed over $170 million worldwide; BORDERTOWN, the political thriller starring Lopez and directed by Gregory Nava; EL CANTANTE, the dark bio-pic about salsa legend Hector Lavoe starring Lopez and Marc Anthony; and FEEL THE NOISE, a Reggaeton project set in the streets of New York and Puerto Rico, released by Sony BMG Films. In television, Nuyorican produced the dramatic Paramount Television series SOUTH BEACH, the Univison mini series COMO AMA UNA MUJER and the MTV dance show called DANCELIFE. Most recently Nuyorican sold the projects MAID IN MANHATTAN to ABC and AMIGAS to Disney.

Few artists have traveled so effortlessly from one artistic medium to another as Jennifer Lopez, as evidenced by her array of talent as an acclaimed movie actress, a chart-topping musical artist and a fashion industry entrepreneur. Her trailblazing career boasts major box office hits, prestigious film nominations, the successful fashion line Sweetface by J.Lo, best-selling fragrances, and over 35 million albums sold worldwide.

Lopez recently released her new pop album "Brave"on Epic Records, her sixth studio album and her second release last year. Her first all-Spanish album, "Como Ama Una Mujer" was released in March 2007; it zoomed straight to #1 on Billboard's Latin Album chart (where it stayed for 4 weeks) while also making a #10 debut on the Billboard Top 200 Album chart. This made history as the highest sales of a Spanish album debut.

Lopez recently starred in the film "El Cantante," as Puchi, the wife of tragic salsa legend Hector Lavoe. Produced by Lopez's Nuyorican Productions, the film opened to rave reviews. Among her other feature film credits: the upcoming "The Governess," "Bordertown," "An Unfinished Life," "Monster-in-Law," "Shall We Dance," "Maid in Manhattan," "The Wedding Planner" "Out of Sight" and the critically acclaimed "Selena." In television, Lopez was a Fly Girl on the Fox variety show "In Living Color."
