COMEDY CENTRAL(R) Signs Deal with Comedian Nick Swardson for One-Hour Stand-Up Special and DVD

Stand-Up Special To Tape Today, April 10 In Austin And Air This Fall

COMEDY CENTRAL HOME ENTERTAINMENT To Release DVD This Fall

NEW YORK, April 10 -- COMEDY CENTRAL has signed comedian Nick Swardson to shoot a one-hour stand-up special, it was announced today by Elizabeth Porter, senior vice president, specials and talent, COMEDY CENTRAL. The stand-up special will tape today, April 10 at the Paramount Theater in Austin, Texas and is set to air this fall. COMEDY CENTRAL HOME ENTERTAINMENT will release the DVD this fall.

"Nick is the real deal," said Porter. "We're all such big fans of his and we're so excited he's doing his first one-hour special for us. He's the guy our audience wants to see and after two great half-hour specials with us and his successful CD 'Party' on our label, I have no doubt this hour will be huge."

Nick Swardson, a multi-talented actor, stand-up comedian and writer, was first recognized for his stand-up at the young age of 18. He has made numerous appearances on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," "Late Night with Conan O'Brien," "Jimmy Kimmel Live," as well as "The Late Show with David Letterman." Swardson taped two COMEDY CENTRAL half-hour stand-up specials, his first in 2000 at the age of 22 (the youngest ever to do so) and his second in 2006. He is well-know for his recurring role as "Terry," in COMEDY CENTRAL'S "Reno 911!" and his scripted animated pilot, "Gay Robot," produced by Happy Madison and Sony TV, is under consideration at COMEDY CENTRAL for series pick-up. In October 2007, Swardson released his debut album, "Party," through COMEDY CENTRAL Records, and it has sold more than 130,000 copies.

On the film side, Swardson is preparing for his first starring role in the Sony/Happy Madison movie, "Born to Be a Star," which he co-wrote with Adam Sandler and Allen Covert. Additionally, Swardson's script co-written with Jamie Kennedy, "Malibu's Most Wanted," was greenlit in 2003.

He has appeared in many films including "Blades of Glory" opposite Will Ferrell, "I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry," "You Don't Mess with Zohan," "Grandma's Boy," "Benchwarmers," "The House Bunny," as well as voicing, "Blake," in the animated film, "Bolt."

Nick Swardson's one-hour COMEDY CENTRAL original stand-up special will be executive produced by John Irwin. Porter is the executive in charge of production for COMEDY CENTRAL.

COMEDY CENTRAL, the only all-comedy network, currently is seen in more than 95 million homes nationwide. COMEDY CENTRAL is owned by, and is a registered trademark of, Comedy Partners, a wholly-owned division of Viacom Inc.'s (NYSE: VIA and VIA.B) MTV Networks.
