Law & Order Reports for Record Season

LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- "Law & Order" is set to report for its record 20th season.
The Peacock is set to announce the 16-episode pickup tomorrow as part of its 2009-10 season schedule announcement.
The news means that the flagship "Law & Order" series will tie "Gunsmoke" as television's longest-running scripted series.
The network had been in talks to renew the show for several weeks however a license fee wasn't worked out until today. The renewal leaves the fates of just two series at the network up in the air: "My Name Is Earl" and "Medium."
