SEASON 2 OF THE EMMY-NOMINATED SERIES THE DOCTORS TO PREMIERE ON MONDAY SEPTEMBER 7

The Fastest Growing Talk Show on Television, and The # 1 New Syndicated Series of Last Year, Returns with New Episodes Featuring Real Doctors Discussing the Latest Medical and Health Trends

(August 24, 2009 - Los Angeles, CA) CBS Television Distribution's The Doctors, produced by Stage 29, kicks off Season 2 on Monday, September 7. Last fall, THE DOCTORS introduced an entirely new concept to the TV landscape -- real doctors discussing medicine and health in a relatable fashion five days a week. Striking an immediate chord with viewers, THE DOCTORS also resonated with the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, who bestowed the ultimate honor to the series during its freshman year -- an Emmy Nomination for Outstanding Talk Show: Informative.

"We are so proud of what we accomplished last season by introducing audiences to a new genre of television that brought accurate medical and health information to the people in a non-threatening and entertaining way, and we will continue to take this responsibility very seriously in season 2," states THE DOCTORS' creator and executive producer Jay McGraw.

Some very special episodes scheduled for broadcast this season: the doctors are challenged to answer 100 questions from viewers in one hour; the doctors will reveal 50 ways to improve your health in just 5 minutes or less a day, and the most comprehensive makeover show ever to be shown on a single hour of television. In addition, beginning September 7, THE DOCTORS will unveil an interactive website called producethedoctors.com, where viewers have the opportunity to tell producers which topics they want to see on the show, with many of these ideas slated to end up on air.

The hosts of THE DOCTORS, ER physician Dr. Travis Stork; obstetrician and gynecologist Dr. Lisa Masterson; plastic surgeon and reconstructive surgery expert Dr. Andrew Ordon; and pediatrician Dr. James Sears will also continue to practice medicine throughout the year. Dr. Stork is a faculty physician and instructor in the Emergency Department at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville; Dr. Masterson and Dr. Ordon have thriving practices in Santa Monica and Beverly Hills respectively, and Dr. Sears runs a practice in Orange County, CA, alongside his father and brother, both renowned doctors.

THE DOCTORS tapes in front of an audience in Hollywood and is produced by Stage 29 Productions and distributed by CBS Television Distribution. Jay McGraw, Carla Pennington and Dr. Phil McGraw are executive producers, and Andrew Scher is the co-executive producer. CBS Television Distribution is the preeminent company in worldwide television syndication. CTD produces or distributes 11 first-run series and holds the largest internationally distributed television library at 70,000 hours strong. CTD is a unit of CBS Corp.
