HOWL (FOX, New!) - Joshua Miller and M.A. Fortin have booked a script order at the network for a new drama described as "an epic family saga about warring families of werewolves in a small Alaskan town." DreamWorks Television is behind the hour, which the company's Justin Falvey and Darryl Frank will executive produce. Miller and Fortin's titles however weren't specified.
TOUGH TRADE (Epix) - Trace Adkins, Joey Lauren Adams, Boyd Holbrook and Claire van der Boom are the latest to joint the cast of the drama pilot, about "three generations of a Nashville music dynasty (Sam Shepard, Cary Elwes, Lucas Black) whose penchant for drink, debauchery and divorce has left it on the verge of bankruptcy." Nashville native Adkins will play Scared, "a friend and bodyguard to Linwood Tucker (Shepard) who is fiercely loyal to the family," with Adams as Shawnelle, "the strong and blunt fifth Mrs. Linwood Tucker who is determined never to be the newest ex-wife"; Holbrook as the youngest Tucker, Jackson, "who is poised to become the crown prince of country music by following his family's legacy"; and Van der Boom as Jackson's half sister Billie, "the only woman in the world of the Tucker men who holds the family together with her strength and will." Jenji Kohan and Chris Offutt are behind the Lionsgate Television-based hour, which also added T Bone Burnett as executive musical producer earlier this week.
