LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- The latest development news, culled from recent wire reports:
Looking to keep track of all the various projects in development? Click here to visit our signature "Devwatch" section. There visitors can view our listings by network, genre, studio and even development stage (ordered to pilot, cast-contingent, script, etc.). It's updated every day!
THE BONNIE HUNT SHOW (Syndication) - Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution has pulled the plug on the talk show after two seasons. Production nevertheless will continue through the end of the broadcast season. To date, "Hunt" is averaging a 0.8 household rating where it ranks 12th out of all 13 syndicated talk shows. The distributor is already developing newcomer "MomLogic" as a potential replacement. The "View"-esque talk show is based on the web site of the same name with Paula Deen, Rene Syler, Lee Woodruff, Judy Gold and Kate Gosselin attached as hosts.
CYBER CRIMES (CBS, New!) - "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" creator Anthony Zuiker is developing a new drama at the Eye about "a newly formed government agency that fights the modern onslaught of Internet- and technology-driven offenses." The network has given a script commitment to the project with a penalty attached should it not go to pilot. Zuiker will then pen the hour and executive produce alongside Matthew Weinberg via their Dare to Pass banner. CBS Television Studios, where the company has a first-look deal, is attached as a producer.
DARK BLUE (TNT) - The cable channel has quietly renewed the series for a second season. The network's Twitter account confirmed the news this afternoon, which is believed to be for 10 episodes. No other specifics were given about the pickup. Warner Horizon Television and Jerry Bruckheimer Television co-produce the hour.
DIVORCE COURT/JUDGE ALEX (Syndication) - Twentieth Television has cleared both series through the 2011-12 season. Said clearances include the Fox Television Stations in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago and Dallas. Each offering was already a go for the 2010-11 season in 75% of the country, including all top 15 markets. "Court" is currently in its 11th season while "Alex" is airing its fifth.
TERRIERS (FX) - Tim Minear ("Dollhouse") has inked a new two-year, seven-figure overall deal with 20th Century Fox Television. The pact, which begins in June, calls for the writer/producer to join the studio-based "Terriers" as an executive producer. There he'll serve alongside fellow executive producers Ted Griffin and Shawn Ryan. In addition, he'll develop new series projects for the studio.
TRUE BLOOD (HBO) - Kristin Bauer has been upped to regular for the show's upcoming third season. She'll continue on as Pam, "Eric's (Alexander Skarsgard) wingwoman at vampire bar Fangtasia." Production on the new season is underway with Denis O'Hare, Marshall Allman, Shannon Lucio, Theo Alexander and Grant Bowler among the season's newcomers.
