GSN ANNOUNCES PREMIERE OF 'HIDDEN AGENDA,' NEW DOMESTIC HIDDEN-CAMERA GAME SHOW IN WHICH COUPLES SECRETLY GET EACH OTHER TO DO THEIR BIDDING - FOR PRIZES
Comic Debi Gutierrez, Who Specializes in Relationship Humor, Hosts HIDDEN AGENDA, Premiering January 14, 2010
(Santa Monica, Calif.) - December 10, 2009 - Combining the unscripted spontaneity and hilarity of reality television with the competitive excitement of TV's best game shows, GSN announces the premiere of HIDDEN AGENDA, a new domestic hidden-camera game show in which one member of a couple attempts to persuade his or her partner to complete a series of challenges - without letting on that the world is watching. Comic Debi Gutierrez, whose comedy career has thrived on the communication (or lack thereof) between couples, serves as host of the show and as the couples' cheerleader. HIDDEN AGENDA premieres Thursday, January 14, at 8:30 PM (ET).
In HIDDEN AGENDA, partners secretly set each other up to face a series of outrageous and comedic challenges. The challenges are specifically designed for each couple, so that the contestant asks his/her partner to do the exact things that he/she wouldn't normally do - such as helping with particular household chores and other domestic duties. With each challenge the partner completes, the couple can win cash and prizes. Meanwhile, a troupe of recurring actors makes surprise appearances, amping up the fun and excitement.
Debi Gutierrez's comedy act is based on relationships - especially those between men and women - and she speaks with the authority of a seasoned therapist and the raucous humor of a stand-up comic. During her career, she's gone from high school teacher to international performer, and is now a regular at premiere comedy clubs in Los Angeles and around the country. Her daily parenting show, A PLACE OF OUR OWN, a three-time Emmy nominee, airs nationally on PBS affiliates and has won the prestigious Peabody Award and The Parents' Choice Award.
HIDDEN AGENDA is produced by Michael Davies and his production company, Embassy Row, which is owned by Sony Pictures Television. Davies has brought audiences fan-favorite shows such as WHO WANTS TO BE A MILLIONAIRE and GSN original THE NEWLYWED GAME.
