COVERT AFFAIRS (USA) - James Parriott ("Defying Gravity") has been tapped as an executive producer on the upcoming drama, about "a multilingual CIA trainee (Piper Perabo) who is unexpectedly promoted to field operative while reeling over a mysterious ex-boyfriend who appears to be of particular interest to her agency bosses." Matt Corman and Chris Ord created the hour, where they'll serve as co-executive producers under Parriott. Dave Bartis and Doug Liman also serve as non-writing executive producers for Universal Cable Productions.
UNDERCOVERS (NBC) - British actress Gugu Mbatha-Raw has been tapped as the female lead on the drama pilot, about Steven and Samantha Bloom, "a domesticated husband (Boris Kodjoe) and wife (Mbatha-Raw) who are re-activated as CIA agents after years of retirement." Also singing on is Ben Schwartz as "a young CIA agent who is wildly respectful of Steve's career as an agent." J.J. Abrams and Josh Reims are behind the Warner Bros. Television-based hour, which Abrams is also slated to direct. Bryan Burk also serves as an executive producer for Bad Robot Productions.
