As previously announced, renowned actor and philanthropist Kevin Bacon will be presented with the third annual Joel Siegel Award by Meryl Streep. Given annually, this special award pays homage to beloved "Good Morning America" film critic and BFCA member Joel Siegel, who lost his long struggle with cancer in June, 2007.

Since its inception in 1995, the Critics' Choice Movie Awards has been a star-studded bellwether event of the movie awards season. The BFCA consistently picks nominees and winners that go on to garner more Academy Award´┐Ż nominations and wins than any other movie awards shows. Of the 20 actors and actresses nominated for Oscars in 2009, 19 were first Critics' Choice Awards nominees.

The 15th Annual Critics' Choice Movie Awards, honoring the finest in cinematic achievement among 2009 film releases, announced its nominees on Monday, December 14, 2009. Final ballots went out to the BFCA members on January 11, 2010 with the deadline for returning final ballots happening on January 13, 2010. For a full list of this year's nominees and information about the show visit CriticsChoice.VH1.com.

Counting down to the live premiere of the Critics' Choice Movie Awards, VH1 and MTV will air the 15th Annual Critics' Choice Movie Awards Red Carpet Pre-Show live on Friday, January 15 at 8:30pm (ET/PT). Covering the excitement of the celebrity arrivals on the red carpet will be former Access Hollywood co-host Nancy O'Dell. The pre-show will also be available online at CriticsChoice.VH1.com. Additionally, CriticsChoice.VH1.com will host a live blog party before and during the live telecast where users can comment and discuss the show with others. Included with the blog coverage will be an alternative multi-camera view of the show that will provide viewers with an insider's look of the star-studded event.

The 15th Annual Critics' Choice Movie Awards is executive produced by Bob Bain, Joey Berlin, Jesse Ignjatovic and Lee Rolontz. Paul Flattery serves as producer and Kelly Brock as co-producer.

The 15th Annual Critics' Choice Movie Awards is sponsored by Walmart and WHEAT THINS.
