TLC REVEALS THE HIDDEN LIVES OF HOARDERS IN HOARDING: BURIED ALIVE

--Successful October Pilot Yields Eight-Part Series Airing Sundays, Beginning March 14--

TLC's newest series explores a serious condition that affects an estimated 700,000 to 1.4 million Americans a condition that left untreated can break up families and destroy lives. Premiering Sunday, March 14 at 10 PM (ET/PT), HOARDING: BURIED ALIVE takes viewers into the jam-packed homes and emotionally unstable world of extreme hoarders.

Each hour-long episode follows two obsessive hoarders struggling to fight the compulsion to collect and return their lives to normalcy. Accumulating everything from stuffed animals to church pews to porcelain owls, their uncontrollable behavior pushes them to the edge, taking over their world and the lives of their loved ones. Some face losing their home, some their spouse or children and others their job, but there is one thing each hoarder has in common the need for intervention. With the help of expert therapists and organizers, the hoarders will attempt to unlock the key to their compulsion but the process will not be easy. For most, decluttering and organizing is an extremely daunting task. And while some will make tremendous strides, others will continue to struggle in the face of this devastating condition.

"HOARDING: BURIED ALIVE follows extreme cases of hoarding", says Nancy Daniels, SVP of production and development for TLC. "But the deeper appeal is that almost everyone can relate to the habit of collecting stuff and the difficulty of parting with possessions. The series appeals to the hoarder in all of us."

Episode One:

Chris Perreca: A handsome bachelor who--on the surface--appears to have it all together. But for the last year, Chris has been hiding something from his girlfriend Annie he is an extreme hoarder and his three-story townhouse is virtually uninhabitable. Revealing the severity of his secret may end his relationship on the spot, but it's a secret he can no longer keep hidden.

Laurie Gros: A dedicated wife and mother whose condition is destroying her family, Laurie's hoarding has distanced her from her three grown children and has her husband at his wits end. With the help of hoarding specialists Dr. Keith Saylor and Dr. David Dia, both hoarders hope to get their lives back on track and repair their broken relationships.

HOARDING: BURIED ALIVE is produced for TLC by Discovery Studios. Executive producer for Discovery Studios is Robin Sistero, supervising producer is Amy Doyle and casting producer is Candace Boissy.
