Speaking before advertisers during the 2010 Syfy Upfront at The Museum of Modern Art, Howe said: ""In the past year, we've seen the positive impact and successful results of the Syfy Effect. Our commitment to producing more and more high quality original programming that inspires the imagination of our consumers, is providing advertisers with highly creative and innovative environments for their products. And that's why more and more business partners are turning to us to help solve their marketing challenges. Programming

Syfy was #2 among all cable entertainment networks in the number of original primetime programming hours in 2009, and #4 in original programming among 18-49 and 25-54 year olds.

2010-11 new programming includes Syfy's first ever Thursday night reality bloc debuting Thursday, July 15, anchored by Mary Knows Best and Paranormal Investigators (both working titles).

New scripted series are Haven (based on the Stephen King novella The Colorado Kid) and Being Human (adapted from the popular British series).

Tracy Morgan (30 Rock) will serve as executive producer of Scare Tactics, which he has hosted for the past two years.

Ghost Hunters Academy evolves into a competition series where each week, a different ghost hunting hopeful is voted off by one of the ultimate judges of paranormal investigating, Jason Hawes. Ghost Hunters International will add a new cast member (Scott Tepperman). Both shows are spin-offs of Ghost Hunters, television's #1 paranormal investigative franchise.

New original movies include Riverworld, The Phantom, and 24 popular Saturday Original Movies from re-imagined fantasy tales like Little Red Riding Hood to creature features such as Sharktopus.

Syfy's formidable prime time schedule is led by returning shows Warehouse 13 (the most successful series in Syfy's 17-year history); Eureka; Ghost Hunters; Destination Truth (all coming off their most watched seasons ever); critically acclaimed Caprica, Stargate Universe and Sanctuary.
