Planet Green Greenlights SHAREEN VINTAGE

-- All-New Eight-Episode Series Follows Cutting-Edge Vintage Designer Shareen Mitchell --

March 31, 2010

(New York, N.Y.) Planet Green today announced that SHAREEN VINTAGE has been greenlit by the network for eight episodes. Teaming up with World of Wonder Productions, this all-new series is currently slated for a debut in early 2011 and will air in VERGE, Planet Green's all-new primetime programming block.

Each 30-minute episode follows the fashion world's best-kept secret-Shareen Mitchell, beloved by fashionistas and recessionistas alike for her unique, affordable approach to vintage clothing. A self-taught designer with retail outlets on both coasts, Mitchell is renowned for her ability to give new life to dowdy old duds by turning them into chic, fashion-forward frocks. To create these one-of-a-kind pieces, Mitchell welcomes her exclusively female clients into her hip boutiques in both downtown Los Angeles and New York's Chelsea district, to hear their stories and make them over in a distinctly SHAREEN VINTAGE style that helps them look and feel their best.

"Every girl is beautiful-and it's so rewarding to work with those who don't know it yet," said Mitchell. "To watch someone jump up and down after seeing herself look in a way she never imagined she could-you just see their self-esteem skyrocket. I'm not really interested in selling dresses-I'm interested in changing a person's life."

"A true visionary, Shareen has the rare ability to see runway-caliber fashions in the bins of a thrift store," said Laura Michalchyshyn, president and general manager, Planet Green, Discovery Health, FitTV and TreeHugger. "Planet Green is thrilled to be working with World of Wonder to share her inspiring story."

"Like her clothing, Shareen is one-of-a-kind and a complete original. To be dressed by Shareen is to have an outfit that is affordable and an experience that is priceless. She changes lives," said Fenton Bailey, executive producer, World of Wonder Productions.

From launching a new line, to building presence in New York, to juggling her home life with her husband, actor J. D. Cullum, the series takes viewers inside the everyday ups and downs of the fashion industry. For anyone fascinated by the business of style, SHAREEN VINTAGE is a fashionista's fantasy come true.

SHAREEN VINTAGE is executive produced by Rachel Smith, Jeff Hasler for Planet Green. Executive producers from World of Wonder are Fenton Bailey, Randy Barbato and Tom Campbell. World of Wonder is behind such entertaining hit series as Tori and Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood, RuPaul's Drag Race, Million Dollar Listing, Fantasia For Real and Man Shops Globe. In addition, World of Wonder has created award-winning films and documentaries such as The Eyes of Tammy Faye, Party Monster and Monica in Black and White. With offices in Hollywood and London, the company has produced cutting-edge fiction and nonfiction programming for HBO, Showtime, VH1, Sundance Channel, Discovery, MTV, BBC, PBS and Channel 4 UK, and can be found online at its entertainment blog The WOW Report, which boasts 500,000 unique visits per month at ww.worldofwonder.net.
