TLC EXPLORES THE LIMITS OF THE HUMAN BODY WITH TWO NEW SPECIALS

On Sunday, May 16 at 8 PM ET/PT, TLC will unveil two astonishing one-hour documentaries that push the limits of the human body with PARALYZED AND PREGNANT: 4 YEARS LATER - a follow up to the 2006 special PARALYZED AND PREGNANT - and PREGNANT AT 70.

When Michelle Carston was 23 years old, she dove into shallow water off the coast of Mexico and broke her neck at the C5 vertebrae - an accident that changed her life forever and sent her to a wheelchair as a quadriplegic. Thirteen years later, Michelle and her husband Peter gave birth to their first born son showcased in the 2006 TLC special, PARALYZED AND PREGNANT. Now, four years later, Michelle is in the process of a painful divorce and has to learn how to co-parent in order to raise her 4-year-old son with her ex. Juggling her child, personal life and daily tasks reclined in her bed or in her wheelchair, Michelle demonstrates profound courage while uncertain about her own fate, not knowing if she'll ever sit up again or be able to hold her son without assistance.
