Discovery to Bow "First Life," "Bidder Rivals" in October
By The Futon Critic Staff (TFC)

LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- Five returning series, one newcomer and a much-ballyhooed special are among Discovery's October offerings, network sources have confirmed to the site.

Among its returning class are "Mythbusters" (Wednesday, October 6 at 9:00/8:00c), "Swamp Loggers" (Friday, October 8 at 9:00/8:00c), "Ghost Lab" (Monday, October 11 at 10:00/9:00c), "Storm Chasers" (Wednesday, October 13 at 10:00/9:00c) and "Dirty Jobs" (Tuesday, October 19 at 9:00/8:00c).

Said quintet will be joined by freshman entry "Bidder Rivals," about Paul Brown and his Atlanta-based Gallery 63, which is known for offering eccentric items like vampire killer cases, 60-year-old meteorites and ancient hand cannons. The series bows Tuesdays at 10:00/9:00c beginning October 26.

And last but not least is "First Life With David Attenborough." The special, due on Sunday, October 24 at 8:00/7:00c, features the famed natural scientist as he "travels the globe on an unforgettable quest to explain the origins of modern life."
