GROUNDLINGS MEMBER TARAN KILLAM GETS SCOOPED UP BY SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE

Los Angeles (August 30, 2010) - "Saturday Night Live" announced that Groundlings member Taran Killam has been added to the late-night comedy group as a featured player.

Killam began training at The Groundlings School in 2004 and became a Groundling in April 2010. Before being cast on SNL, he starred on hit shows including "How I Met Your Mother," "Scrubs," "Wild N' Out" and "Mad TV" as well as movies such as My Best Friend's Girl, Stuck in the Suburbs, Just Married and Big Fat Liar. Killam was last seen in the Groundlings current main stage show, Groundlings River Adventure, in which he wrote and starred in the crowd-favorite sketch "Twi-Hard," a spoof on every teenager's favorite vampire story.

Killam joins other Groundlings Jim Rash (returning to "Community"), Steve Little (returning as Stevie Janowski on "East Bound and Down"), Andrew Friedman (returning to "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia") and Melissa McCarthy (debuting in "Mike and Molly") on TV this fall.

The Groundlings have launched the careers of such comic geniuses from film and television as Will Ferrell, Cheryl Hines, Chris Kattan, Lisa Kudrow, Jon Lovitz, Kathy Griffin, Mindy Sterling, Jennifer Coolidge, Michael McDonald, Maya Rudolph, and Ana Gasteyer among others. As well as performers, Groundlings members and alumni hold writing and acting positions on many of Hollywood's top television shows and films.

The Groundlings Theater is located at 7307 Melrose Avenue, Los Angeles. For more information or to purchase tickets online, please visit www.Groundlings.com.
