History Adds "Ice Road Truckers," "Pawn Stars" Spin-Offs in October
By The Futon Critic Staff (TFC)

LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- History is expanding its "Ice Road Truckers" and "Pawn Stars" empires, as spin-offs of both series will debut next month.

"IRT: Deadliest Roads," premiering Sunday, October 3, tracks Alex Debogorski, Rick Yemm and Lisa Kelly as they take on the highways of India, home to one of the world's most unforgiving environments: the Himalayas. The series bows at 10:00/9:00c on October 3 following the season finale of "Ice Road Truckers." "Roads" then will settle into its regular 9:00/8:00c time period on October 10.

"Rusty Nuts," due Monday, October 18 at 9:00/8:00c, tracks recurring "Pawn Stars" expert Rick Dale and his Las Vegas-based Rick's Restorations. Each episode follows Rick, his staff and his teenage son as they go through the process of restoring everything from Cadillacs to Coke Machines, including details about where, when and why they were invented. The spin-off will lead into new episodes of its parent series "Pawn Stars" at 10:00/9:00c.

Also set for October: the return of "Modern Marvels" (Friday, October 22 at 9:00/8:00c) and "Ancient Aliens" (Thursday, October 28 at 10:00/9:00c) as well as new specials "War on Marijuana" (Wednesday, October 13), "I'm Alive" (Wednesday, October 20) and "The Real Story of Halloween" (Wednesday, October 27).
