DR. G: MEDICAL EXAMINER RETURNS WITH ALL-NEW MEDICAL MYSTERIES THIS OCTOBER ON DISCOVERY HEALTH

--Americas Authentic Forensic Investigator, Jan "Dr. G" Garavaglia, Is Back on the Case This Fall With Six World-Premiere Medical Mysteries--

(Silver Spring, Md.) - This fall, the real-life docu-series that invited viewers into the morgue-and the world of forensic pathology-returns with six world-premiere medical mysteries. All-new episodes of DR. G: MEDICAL EXAMINER begin Monday, October 4, at 9 PM (ET/PT) on Discovery Health.

Since the series premiere of DR. G: MEDICAL EXAMINER, Jan "Dr. G" Garavaglia has led more than 150 forensic investigations on Discovery Health-closing case files and providing answers for the departed's loved ones. On each episode, viewers go on the job with Dr. G, the chief medical examiner for the District Nine Medical Examiner's Office in Florida, as she tackles actual cases in the morgue. Each autopsy offers the clues to a mystery and provides the answers to lingering questions, such as "Could this death have been prevented?", "What can we learn from this death?" and most important, "What-or who-killed this person?"

This fall, Dr. G investigates a diverse slate of cases as unusual as they are puzzling. From a possible mauling death caused by a beloved dog, to a potential genetic killer, to an apparent gruesome murder-these episodes prove once again that truth can be stranger than fiction.

"Dr. G is an institution. Her incredible expertise, endless dedication and charming integrity have endeared her to legions of viewers," said Laura Michalchyshyn, president and general manager of Discovery Health. "These upcoming episodes deliver everything that Dr. G fans crave-high drama, medical mystery and her truly singular personality."

"Wounded"

When Donald Finch falls ill and suddenly dies, Dr. G struggles to explain his sudden death. When his autopsy suggests that Donald was previously bedridden, Dr. G wonders what would cause a 32-year-old man to be so ill, and if his death was not as sudden as it appeared.

Fifteen-year-old Damien Harper claimed he was enjoying his breakfast, when his father allegedly grabbed a knife and started stabbing himself. As the investigation unfolds, police begin to doubt Damien's bizarre story and he soon emerges as the prime suspect. Putting aside suspicions, Dr. G must determine if the death was a bizarre suicide or a cold-blooded murder. .

"Hidden Killers"

Teenager Alonzo Smith goes to the ER with back pain, but doctors quickly send him home to rest. Soon after, he develops alarming new symptoms and dies only hours later. Dr. G races to find out if he may have contracted a deadly and contagious infection that could possibly spread to others

When Marie Allen stops by to visit her sister, she makes a gruesome discovery - the 49-year-old woman is dead on the couch and covered in blood. Now, it's up to Dr. G to figure out if this was an accident or something far more sinister.

Episode 3

Premieres Monday, October 18th at 9pm (ET/PT)

Dr. Farley calls to share details in the bizarre case of Ashley Edwards, a 22-year-old pregnant mother who dies without warning. As the autopsy unfolds, Dr. Farley uncovers key information that could have saved her life and that of her unborn child.

At a family barbecue, 28-year-old John Gardner erupts into a violent rage. His family tries to restrain him, but during this struggle he collapses to the ground and dies. Shaken by their sudden loss, John's family looks to Dr. G for answers.

Episode 4

Premieres Monday, October 25th at 9pm (ET/PT)

Roy Campbell's neighbor discovers him dead in bed, covered with scratches - and with his aggressive 80 lbs. pet dog by his side. Given the circumstances, Dr. G wonders if the dog could have been responsible for his death, or if this is a case of disguised foul play.

4-month-old Laniya Delva has died in her sleep and Dr. G suspects a generic disorder is to blame. A deeper investigation into the young girl's death, reveal clues that leave Dr. G wondering if a fatal case of SIDS was to blame - or even abuse.

Episode 6

Premieres Monday, November 8th at 9pm (ET/PT)

Nguyen Van Lu, a 25-year-old immigrant from Vietnam, steps off a plane with an uncontrollable cough. He's rushed to the hospital yet within only a few hours, he is dead. Doctors suspect an infection - and possible exposure to other passengers during the long flight.

Dario Romano is found dead by his 15-year-old son at the bottom of the attic ladder. What happened to this 45-year-old? With Dr. G's guidance, Dr. Stephany pieces together evidence that may lead to answers in his death.
