The Fans Determine It All for PEOPLE'S CHOICE AWARDS 2011! Voting Begins Today to Pick Nominees at PeoplesChoice.com

New Fan-Voted Categories Added

NEW YORK, Oct. 18, 2010 -- Voting has begun at www.PeoplesChoice.com to determine the nominees for PEOPLE'S CHOICE AWARDS 2011, the only major awards show where fans - not industry insiders - completely determine the nominees and winners across categories of music, movies and television. Starting today, fans can vote on 40 categories, including Favorite Country Artist, Favorite Action Movie and Favorite TV Comedy. The top five nominees in each category will be announced on Nov. 9, 2010 at The London West Hollywood Hotel during the annual People's Choice Awards press conference. PEOPLE'S CHOICE AWARDS 2011 will be broadcast Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2011 (9:00-11:00 PM, live ET/delayed PT) on the CBS Television Network.

For the first time, fans recently voted on PeoplesChoice.com to add new categories; winners include Favorite Song, Favorite Horror Movie and Favorite TV Doctor. In addition to the new fan-voted categories, PEOPLE'S CHOICE AWARDS 2011 introduces a new category in partnership with Moviefone - Favorite Movie Star Under 25. Fans will pick from Moviefone's list of the top 25 Hollywood stars under the age of 25 and the highest vote getters will be revealed at the press conference as official nominees for the award. PEOPLE'S CHOICE AWARDS 2011 will also see the continuation of last year's successful Favorite Web Celeb category, in partnership with MSN's Wonderwall.com.

Nominee voting will also take place on MySpace, where fans can share content and converse about the awards on the official People's Choice Awards profile at www.myspace.com/peopleschoiceawards.

The list of potential nominees for PEOPLE'S CHOICE AWARDS 2011 was determined by national ratings averages, box-office grosses, music sales and E-Score Celebrity.
