New Series Follows "Pawn Stars" Famed Restorer Rick Dale As He Transforms Would-be Worthless Items Into Valuable Collectibles
LOS ANGELES - October 19, 2010 - When it comes to restoration, Rick Dale is the Pawn Stars' go-to guy. Rick makes a living restoring America's past, one dilapidated, beat-up piece at a time. History's new series, AMERICAN RESTORATION, follows his work as owner of Las Vegas-based Rick's Restorations, a family business that takes rusty old junk and painstakingly restores it to its original beauty. Naturally, these restorations aren't easy. Whether it's a 1960s golf cart or a giant gas pump from the 1940s, each project presents unique challenges that force Rick and his team to use inventive processes to finish each job flawlessly and on time.
The before-and-after reveals of his work are always highlights on "Pawn Stars," in part because of the history nuggets Rick shares about each object: where, when and why they were invented, who used them, and how fixing or transforming them changes their value. He's a storyteller who works with tools instead of a pen.
AMERICAN RESTORATION begins an eight-episode run on Monday, October 25 at 9:00 PM ET/PT with back-to-back episodes on History(TM).
