[For Release November 2, 2010] HGTV designer Vern Yip holds the keys to an Urban Oasis in New York City and will announce the winner of the luxury residence during the HGTV Urban Oasis Giveaway 2010 on Saturday, November 20, at 8 p.m. ET/PT. The fully-furnished residence located in The Residences at W New York-Downtown, 123 Washington Street, was custom-designed by Yip and is part of a grand prize package valued at approximately $1.5 million. The prize also includes a brand new Acura ZDX.
During the television special, Yip will go on location to surprise one lucky viewer with the news that they have won the new, contemporary residence with sweeping vistas of the New York City skyline. Viewers won't want to miss a single minute of the special as Yip goes behind the scenes to reveal how the winner is selected and offers them a final look at the residence.
Yip, who is a judge for HGTV Design Star, created a home with a clean-lined, eclectic look, highlighted by antiques and architectural artifacts uniquely tied to New York City. At just under 900 square feet, the residence includes one bedroom, a luxurious bath, a living room with lots of natural light and a gourmet kitchen. It also features state-of-the-art appliances and hardwood floors.
