"25 YEARS OF SEXY: PEOPLE MAGAZINE'S SEXIEST MAN ALIVE!" TAKES A BEHIND-THE-SCENES LOOK AT THE ICONIC FRANCHISE
Kim Kardashian Hosts One-Hour Special Airing November 17 and Featuring an Exclusive On-Camera Interview with PEOPLE's "2010 Sexiest Man Alive"
How is PEOPLE Magazine's "Sexiest Man Alive" chosen? "25 Years of Sexy: PEOPLE Magazine's Sexiest Man Alive!," a one-hour special hosted by Kim Kardashian, airs WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 17 (10:00-11:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network and celebrates the 25th anniversary of this successful franchise. The special goes behind the scenes of the "2010 Sexiest Man Alive" edition to reveal for the first time ever PEOPLE magazine's selection process, and features highlights from the iconic issue since its debut in1985.
The special examines the "Sexiest Man Alive" from all angles, including an interview with Hugh Jackman ("2008 Sexiest Man Alive"), who describes the impact the title has had on his career, and the teasing that Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, Brad Pitt and George Clooney inflicted on each other when they landed the title. ABC was given special access to PEOPLE Magazine's editorial meetings and photo selections for the "2010 Sexiest Man Alive," and offers viewers a unique behind-the-scenes glimpse at discussions led by Managing Editor Larry Hackett to determine which lucky men were chosen for the special issue, which hits newsstands nationwide on Friday, November 19.
Women also weigh in during "25 Years of Sexy: PEOPLE Magazine's Sexiest Man Alive!" regarding the qualities they consider sexy (or not) about men: Lisa Rinna describes what's sexy about her husband, Harry Hamlin, named "1987 Sexiest Man Alive," Patti Stanger ("Millionaire Matchmaker")
sounds off on what she believes makes men appealing, and Lisa Niemi, widow of Patrick Swayze, talks about what the "1991 Sexiest Man Alive" title meant to her late husband.
Celebrities aren't the only men who have landed a coveted spot in the "Sexiest Man Alive" issue in the past. The special highlights some of PEOPLE Magazine's sexiest "real" men alive, such as construction workers, chefs, soldiers and everyday hunks.
"25 Years of Sexy: PEOPLE Magazine's Sexiest Man Alive!" also features photo shoot footage and interviews of those included in this year's issue, plus the first exclusive on-camera interview with the "2010 Sexiest Man Alive," who will be revealed on November 17, 2010.
"25 Years of Sexy: PEOPLE Magazine's Sexiest Man Alive!" is from Lincoln Square Productions. Jeff Winn is the director. John R. Green is executive producer. The program will air in 720 Progressive (720P), ABC's selected HDTV format, with stereo sound. A TV parental guideline will be assigned closer to airdate.
