HOMELAND (Showtime) - Damian Lewis ("Life") has been tapped as the male lead on the drama pilot, about "an American soldier taken prisoner during the invasion of Iraq in 2003. Left for dead, the soldier miraculously returns to the U.S. after years in captivity." He'll play Scott Brody, the aforementioned soldier, in the hour, which also stars Claire Danes and Mandy Patinkin. Michael Cuesta is helming the Fox 21-based project from a script by co-creators Alex Gansa, Gideon Raff and Howard Gordon. Production on the pilot begins next month.
