LOS ANGELES, March 10, 2011 � Filming has begun in San Francisco on the HBO Films production HEMINGWAY & GELLHORN, starring Academy Award(R) nominee and Golden Globe winner Clive Owen ("Closer," "Children of Men") and Academy Award(R) and three-time Golden Globe winner Nicole Kidman ("The Hours," "Rabbit Hole") in the title roles. Various locations in and around San Francisco will be used to represent Key West, Spain, China, Cuba and New York.
Scheduled to debut on HBO in 2012, HEMINGWAY & GELLHORN recounts the tumultuous romance and subsequent marriage of literary master Ernest Hemingway (Clive Owen) and up-and-coming war correspondent Martha Gellhorn (Nicole Kidman), following them through the Spanish Civil War and beyond. As she grew in reputation and stature, Gellhorn stood toe-to-toe with Hemingway, putting his famous bravado and iconic style to the test.
