NYC & COMPANY PARTNERS WITH SYFY TO LAUNCH "31 DAYS OF HALLOWEENYC" IN OCTOBER 2011

NEW YORK - March 23, 2011 - This October, NYC & Company, New York City's official tourism, marketing and partnership organization will team up with Syfy to bring Syfy's 31 Days of HalloweeNYC to the streets for New Yorkers and visitors alike.

The partnership will intensify Syfy's already popular month-long programming. In October, Syfy and NYC & Company will create a series of promotions at locations citywide, and together, will develop a guide highlighting several of the Halloween happenings throughout select boroughs. In addition, Syfy will align with existing Halloween events in the City through a co-branded, comprehensive outdoor media campaign, as well as a chance for one consumer to win a trip to New York City in 2012.

Said Blake Callaway, Senior Vice President, Brand and Strategic Marketing, Syfy: "Halloween always takes over Syfy for 31 days every October. This year we wanted to make the holiday even bigger, so we decided to partner with NYC & Company. You can't get much bigger than that. This will be a great promotion for the City, Syfy and our advertising partners."

31 Days of HalloweeNYC will be complemented by a month-long block of Halloween-themed programming on Syfy, Chiller, and Syfy.com. The Syfy programming will include 31 tips on how to "Imagine a Greater Halloween" on air and online. The 31 Days of HalloweeNYC promotion will feature a blog curating the greatest Halloween moments (such as the "Most Imaginative Halloween Costumes," "Best Decorated Houses," "Famous Haunted Locations"), and related stories into one online destination.

"Thousands of New Yorkers and visitors gather each year in New York City to celebrate the October 31st holiday," said George Fertitta CEO of NYC & Company. "By partnering with Syfy, Halloween will become a month long celebration and will provide NYC & Company and New York City national publicity reaching a unique audience."

To boost travel to New York City, NYC & Company continues to develop marketing promotions including the Get More NYC(TM) campaign NYC Summer Restaurant Week and Fashion's Night Out. All of NYC & Company's initiatives are designed to boost the local economy and encourage tourism in the lead-up to achieve Mayor Bloomberg's goal to attract 50 million visitors annually to New York City by 2012.
