EMMY AWARD(R) WINNING COMEDIAN KATHY GRIFFIN HEADLINES TV GUIDE NETWORK'S COVERAGE OF WILLIAM AND KATE'S ROYAL WEDDING

"Kathy Griffin's Insightful and Hilarious Take on the Royal Wedding" Premieres On TV Guide Network Friday, April 29 at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT

LOS ANGELES (March 30, 2011) - In celebration of the Royal Wedding between His Royal Highness Prince William and Miss Catherine Middleton, TV Guide Network honors the historical event by offering wedding-themed programming to viewers. Comedian Kathy Griffin will host "Kathy Griffin's Insightful and Hilarious Take on the Royal Wedding," a one hour special that will take a light-hearted, humorous look at the ultra-formal nuptials premiering on Friday, April 29 at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT.

Griffin says, "I'm thrilled at the opportunity to take TV Guide Network to a level of high class...or down to the gutter; I haven't decided which. Either way, as a longtime royal watcher -- and let's be honest, I'm referring to Prince Harry's adorable arse -- I'm eminently qualified to cover the wedding of the year, and not just because I once saw Helen Mirren at In-N-Out Burger. If I can survive having Brooke Shields as my maid of honor (go ahead and Google that one, I'll wait) then I'm fully prepared for that cozy little chapel of love called Westminster Abbey. And by Westminster Abbey I mean a TV studio full of judgment."

In addition to Kathy Griffin's special, TV Guide Network viewers will get insider information from people close to the royal couple in a special edition of Hollywood 411 and relive television's most famous weddings in a memorable countdown.

Below is a breakdown of TV Guide Network's special coverage:

Friday, April 1st at 10/9c

William & Kate's Wedding: Hollywood 411 Special Edition - Hollywood 411's Carly Steel is on the ground in London to report on everything needed to know about the King and Queen-to-be. Carly visits Kate's hometown that has been thrust into the headlines, speaks to her childhood friends and finds out what etiquette Kate had to learn before becoming a princess. Plus, she will reveal all of the important locations that will be center stage on the big day - from Westminster Abbey to Buckingham Palace. Carly will also speak with Princess Diana's wedding dressmaker to show how much work goes into creating a dress that makes history.

Saturday, April 2nd at 7/6c

25 Favorite TV Weddings of All Time - This one hour special looks back at television's most memorable and over-the-top weddings from unwanted party crashers and fist fights to those will-they-or-won't-they-say "I do" moments. How will shows like "Dynasty" and "Friends" stack up against the real-life royal wedding of Princess Di and Prince Charles? With insight from TV stars such as Florence Henderson, Valerie Harper and Jane Pauley, TV Weddings remembers the romance, the laughs, the tears and the super couples who vowed to love each other forever.

Friday, April 29th at 8/7c

Kathy Griffin's Insightful and Hilarious Take on the Royal Wedding - A Royal Wedding is the very definition of pomp and circumstance and ridiculous formality. It begs for someone to take it down a few pegs and that's where Kathy Griffin comes in. With her elite panel of snarkologists, Kathy will bring everyone down to Fergie's level, and let's face it, she's one step away from starring in "Spiderman The Musical." Kathy and her friends Royally mess with the Royal Wedding.
