"Jeopardy!" Facebook Game Now Available from GSN Digital and Sony Pictures Consumer Products Inc.

WALTHAM, MASS. and LOS ANGELES, CALIF. - April 25, 2011 - The clue: This long-running quiz show is now playable on Facebook. What is Jeopardy!? Beginning today, Jeopardy! fans can play their favorite game anytime, anywhere by visiting http://www.facebook.com/playjeopardy. The new game was developed by GSN Digital, the interactive division of GSN (Game Show Network), and Sony Consumer Products Inc.

"Jeopardy! is considered a benchmark of ultimate knowledge. We're thrilled that GSN Digital has created an interactive game for Facebook that makes learning fun," said Harry Friedman, executive producer of Jeopardy!

Players will compete in three fast-paced, shortened rounds and can make "wagers" on Daily Doubles and Final Jeopardy! The Facebook game also includes several interactive twists. During the first two rounds, each dollar amount and category can be played only once, making for a high-energy competition. Players have the option to respond or use Jeopardy! Boosts, a new gaming option that allow players to either double their score or pass on a clue. In addition, if players do not know the correct Final Jeopardy! response, they can ask a friend for help and win back half of their wager if they're correct.

The final total is tracked and dually displayed on a top weekly and all-time players scoreboard. Players can also earn Gold, Jeopardy!'s exclusive in-game currency with every episode, which can be used to purchase additional episodes and Boosts. Players can invite friends to play via their Facebook wall and news feed.

Every player will receive two free episodes on their first day and have the chance to accumulate additional free episodes during their play. A free episode is awarded to those who have played within the previous 8 hours.

This is the second joint social game venture for GSN Digital and Sony. Jeopardy! follows on the heels of the launch of the Wheel of Fortune Facebook application, which is played by more than 200,000 people each day. The game has been played by over 3.3 million people since its launch in September 2010.

"Jeopardy! is truly America's Favorite Quiz Show, and we're excited to be able to offer it to the millions of Jeopardy! fans looking for another way to enjoy the game," said Jeremy Shea, vice president of GSN's Digital Labs division. "The success of Wheel of Fortune on Facebook has paved the way for additional fan favorites, and we know our loyal players will love Jeopardy!"
