First to Complete the Week-long Online Game Wins $4,000 Prize

Burbank, CA (May 26, 2011) - On Tuesday, May 31st, ABC Family will launch "Switched at Birth: Hunt for the Code," an online scavenger hunt game, as part of the network's launch of its new one-hour scripted original drama series "Switched at Birth," premiering Monday, June 6th at 9:00PM ET/PT. To enter the game, viewers can log onto www.abcfamily.com/switchedatbirthgame.

"Switched at Birth" tells the story of two teenage girls who discover they were accidentally switched as newborns in the hospital. Bay Kennish grew up in a wealthy family with two parents and a brother, while Daphne Vasquez, who lost her hearing at an early age due to a case of meningitis, grew up with a single mother in a working class neighborhood. Things come to a dramatic head when both families meet and struggle to learn how to live together for the sake of the girls.

The game centers around the teenage character of Bay, a rebellious and talented street artist, who has been hiding the fact that she's been painting her stencil art (image above) around the neighborhood. In the online game, players will hunt the internet for 10 of Bay's signature pink Tags, each of which will have two letters written underneath it. Starting May 31st, the network will post two clues per weekday on abcfamily.com that hint to the sites where Bay's stencil art can be found. On Monday, June 6th, the first eligible person to collect all 20 letters and enter the complete code on abcfamily.com wins the grand prize of $4,000 to switch their life for the weekend*.

Users can also scan the pink Microsoft Tags with a smart phone to access sneak peeks of "Switched at Birth," including video, photos and script pages.

The series stars newcomer Katie LeClerc as Daphne Vasquez; Vanessa Marano ("Gilmore Girls") as Bay Kennish; Constance Marie ("George Lopez") as Regina Vasquez; D.W.
