NEW YORK, NY, JUNE 30, 2011 - BIO Channel's 'Aftermath with William Shatner,' in which two-time Emmy(R) Award-winner William Shatner hosts exclusive in-depth interviews with unknown citizens who turned into household names overnight when they were cast into the spotlight of a notorious breaking news story over the past two decades, returns for a second season on Tuesday, July 5 at 10PM ET/9PM CT/11PM.
Shatner's unique observations and provocative personality elicits new details on familiar stories while archival footage and reenactments help to illustrate each infamous, headline grabbing event and its aftermath. Stories will include some of the biggest national news subjects of the last two decades including Ed Smart, father of Elizabeth Smart who was abducted from her bedroom and held hostage for nine months; Robbie & Casey O'Donnell, wife and eldest son of Robert O'Donnell, the paramedic who worked for 58 hours after 18-month-old "Baby Jessica" fell into a well in 1986; Daniel Ellsberg, a military analyst who released the Pentagon Papers in the 1970's; Jeff Hart, a driller who spent 33 days rescuing the 33 Chilean miners trapped underground in 2010; Sydney Biddle Barrows; a businesswoman moonlighting as an escort-service owner dubbed the 'Mayflower Madam' in the early 1980's; and Dr. Jeffrey Wigand, a whistleblower in the tobacco industry who exposed increased levels of nicotine in cigarettes in 1996.
