"Momster of the Bride" Premieres 8/13 on Style!

Cameras Capture Dramatic Moments as Real Life Brides Collide with their Overbearing Mothers on Quest to Plan the Wedding of their Dreams

Los Angeles, July 19, 2011 - From the surprise proposal to walking down the aisle, the path is clear for the bride to make the important decisions that will contribute to a magical wedding ceremony and reception. That is, until one frustrating, difficult and even infuriating roadblock gets in the way.her meddling mother! On The Style Network's all-new two-part event, "Momster of the Bride," cameras follow future wives and their domineering moms as they battle each other for control of the big day. Viewers get a peek into the complicated dynamics that exist between mother and daughter while trying to pull off one of the most important events in both their lives. Will mom prove that it's her wedding to plan as much as it is her daughter's? Or will the bride win the test of wills to create a glorious event based on her own vision? A bridezilla is nothing compared to the "Momster of the Bride" when Style premieres part one on Saturday, August 13 at 9:00 and 9:30pm ET/PT and part two on Saturday, August 20 at 9:00 and 9:30pm.

In the premiere of "Momster of the Bride" airing Saturday, August 13 at 9:00pm ET/PT, a daughter's dream wedding is being threatened by her bossy mother's insistence on continuing family traditions. As bride-to-be Shaylin plans her marriage to fiancé Jason in San Clemente, Calif., her mother Susan demands that she wear her grandmother's antiquated wedding dress - the same dress she was forced to wear on her own wedding day. To make matters worse, Susan hires a family friend to photograph the wedding without consulting Shaylin and orders her daughter not to trim her hair for the pending nuptials. As tempers flare, fights ensue and tears are shed, Shaylin does her best to resist her mother's constant unreasonable requests, but will she loose the battle?

The second segment follows at 9:30pm ET/PT, where a know-it-all mother wants to start her own wedding planning business and decides her newly-engaged daughter will be her first client.whether she likes it or not. Funding the entire cost of the wedding, couple Ayana and Matthew desire an inexpensive, Caribbean-style ceremony in beachy Santa Monica, Calif.; however, Ayana's mother Theresa has illusions of grandeur and begins making arrangements for an elegant wedding behind her daughter's back. At the same time, Ayana hires a wedding coordinator to implement her laid back theme. Of course, Theresa isn't keen on the idea of another planner taking control, and sparks soon fly as mother and daughter jostle for control of the big day.

The familial clashes continue the following week on Saturday, August 20 at 9:00 and 9:30pm, as a devoutly religious mother insists that her "pure" daughter wear white on her wedding day. Little does she know that her child is no longer a virgin! Inevitably, the daughter must gather the courage to tell her mom the truth. After this startling news, it's an uphill battle for this modern daughter to find common ground with her pious mother. In the final segment, a glamorously flashy mother, who thinks her daughter is extremely dull, pushes for an over-the-top Mardi Gras-inspired wedding spectacle befitting a true diva.

"Momster of the Bride" is produced by Screen Door Entertainment for The Style Network with Joel Rizor and Paulina Williams serving as executive producers.
