GUILTY (FOX, New!) - Greg Berlanti and Marc Guggenheim ("Eli Stone") are set to reteam for a potential drama at the network about "a brilliant, morally questionable defense attorney who, after being falsely convicted of fraud and stripped of his legal license, uses his unorthodox methods to solve the cases he's been prohibited from handling and to ultimately exact revenge on the men who set him up." Said effort, which was written by Guggenheim and is expected to receive a put pilot commitment, comes from Warner Bros. Television, where Berlanti recently inked an overall deal.
LOVE HANDLES: COUPLES IN CRISIS (Lifetime) - The show's six remaining installments are set to turn up beginning this weekend on sibling Lifetime Real Women. Episodes will air on Saturdays at 7:00/6:00c and Sundays at 4:00/3:00c for the rest of the month. The newcomer, which features "a dual transformation of overweight couples as they attempt to save their lives and relationships by confronting what lies at the core of the emotional, dietary and physical issues deeply affecting their well-being," was pulled from the former's lineup just two weeks into its run.
THE PROTECTOR (Lifetime) - Vivica A. Fox and Jeffrey Nordling have both scored roles on the freshman drama. She'll play Captain Lisa Novak, "the ex-wife of Miguel Ferrer's Lieutenant Felix Valdez [whose] introduction in Episode 12 stirs things up at the precinct for Ally Walker's single mom/homicide detective Gloria and the rest of the team." Nordling then is set as a potential a love interest for Gloria however no other details were given.
ROB (CBS) - Diana Maria Riva and Claudia Bassols are the latest additions to the Rob Schneider-led comedy pilot, about Rob, "a confirmed bachelor who has just married into a tight-knit Mexican-American family." The latter will play his wife Maggie with Riva as his mother-in-law Rosa. The duo will take over for Nadine Velazquez and Ada Maris, who played said roles in the original pilot. Cheech Marin, Eugenio Derbez, Juan Martinez and Lupe Ontiveros also star in the CBS Television Studios/Tannenbaum Co.-based half-hour.
UNTITLED JAY SCHERICK/DAVID RONN PROJECT (ABC, New!) - Jay Scherick and David Ronn ("The Smurfs") have booked a potential single-camera half-hour at the Alphabet billed as a workplace comedy set at a police station. Sony Pictures Television is behind the project, which has a penalty attached should it not move forward to pilot.
WEEDS (Showtime) - Ian Reed Kesler has landed a potentially recurring role on the veteran comedy at the pay channel. He'll play "an offbeat hoodlum with a military bent" in the show's seventh season finale, a role which could continue onto season eight.
THE WEEK THE WOMEN WENT (Lifetime) - The cable channel has commissioned six hour-long episodes of the long-in-the-works reality project, in which the men in a neighborhood are tapped to fill every household and community role when the entire adult female population leaves for seven days. Production began this week in Yemassee, South Carolina on the series, which is based on the U.K. effort of the same name. Jon Kroll, Elli Hakami and Jane Tranter are executive producing for BBC Worldwide Productions with Rob Sharenow, Gena McCarthy and Colleen Conway supervising for the network.
