Showtime & NFL Films Sign Multi-Year Extension for Emmy Award-Winning "Inside the NFL"

Season Four on SHOWTIME(R) Premieres Wednesday, Sept. 7, at 9 p.m. ET/PT

NEW YORK (Aug. 23, 2011) - INSIDE THE NFL, the Emmy Award-winning NFL studio show, returns to SHOWTIME for a fourth consecutive season on Wednesday, Sept. 7, at 9 p.m. ET/PT to kick off a multi-year extension announced today. The announcement was made jointly by Ken Hershman, Executive Vice President, General Manager, SHOWTIME Sports(R), Sean McManus, Chairman, CBS Sports and Executive Producer, THE NFL ON CBS and INSIDE THE NFL, and Steve Bornstein, Executive Vice President of NFL Media.

"We are thrilled to continue our relationship with the NFL and NFL Films," said Hershman. "INSIDE THE NFL is the crown jewel of SHOWTIME Sports. From the breathtaking highlights and compelling features to heated debate on the most provocative issues in football, INSIDE THE NFL stands alone as the best sports highlights and analysis program on television."

"We are looking forward to continuing to produce INSIDE THE NFL on SHOWTIME," said McManus. "The CBS Sports team takes great pride in advancing this Emmy Award-winning show, which continues in its unique style and has been highly acclaimed for more than three decades."

"Emmy Award-winning INSIDE THE NFL has enjoyed a successful run on SHOWTIME," said Bornstein. "We are proud to extend our partnership."

INSIDE THE NFL, now entering its 33rd season, will air every Wednesday night through the NFL season on SHOWTIME for a total of 23 episodes, with multiple replays each week on SHOWTIME and SHOWTIME EXTREME(R) and availability on SHOWTIME On Demand.

Host James Brown anchors INSIDE THE NFL with All-Pro NFL greats Cris Collinsworth, Phil Simms and Warren Sapp serving as expert analysts, and Michael Lombardi returning as the show's insider.

INSIDE THE NFL is produced by CBS Sports and NFL Films. In 2008, INSIDE THE NFL was reborn on SHOWTIME, earning the Emmy Award for Outstanding Studio Show, Weekly, its ninth overall Emmy and the first for SHOWTIME Sports(R). After its second season on the network INSIDE THE NFL received the Emmy Award for Outstanding Short Feature and for Outstanding Post Produced Audio/Sound.

Since its premiere in 1977, the heart of the one-hour show has been its exclusive and award-winning game highlights from NFL Films, as well as its storied roster of talent recapping the weekend's games and previewing the match-ups for the week ahead.

INSIDE THE NFL is produced by CBS Sports and NFL Films. The executive producers are McManus and NFL Films President Steve Sabol. Pete Radovich Jr., the EMMY Award winning Creative Director for CBS Sports, serves as coordinating producer.
