LIL WAYNE AND BIRDMAN TO HIT THE STAGE AT THE FIRST EVER MTV2 "SUCKER FREE AWARDS" AIRING SUNDAY, DECEMBER 4TH AT 11PM ET/PT ON MTV2

DJ Irie Set to Bring the Heat As The Official House DJ And DJ Khaled to Join the Show as Special Guest Commentator

NEW YORK, NY (November 7, 2011) - MTV2 has announced the headlining acts performing at the "Sucker Free Awards." Four-time Grammy Award winner, Lil Wayne, nominated for both "Artist of the Year" and "Classic Album" categories, will hit the Sucker Free Stage with YMCMB head honcho Birdman to set the stage ablaze with a performance of the new single Why U Mad from Birdman's upcoming album Bigga Than Life. Mixing the hits, DJ Irie will keep the Sucker Free Awards party going throughout the show as the house mix master. Known for chart topping club bangers, DJ Khaled is set to appear as a guest commentator highlighting the best moments of the night. Premiering on Sunday, December 4th at 11pm ET/PT on MTV2, the Sucker Free Awards will honor the year in hip-hop with a unique look back at the music, headline making moments and personalities that made 2011 so memorable. Hosted by MTV's Sway Calloway, the performances will be held at LIV Fontainebleau Miami Beach, and feature packages and highlights from the award-shows big winners. DJ Envy will also be on hand throughout the night to give fans the VIP treatment from the heart of the action.

A total of seven categories will be voted on through a combination of fan voting online and via social media, as well as voting by tastemakers throughout the music and entertainment industry. Viewers can vote for three Sucker Free Awards categories including "Must Follow Artist in Social Media," "Rookie of the Year" and "The Best Crew of 2011" online by heading over to MTV2.com.To vote via Twitter, fans must use #SuckerFreeAwards hash-tag, list the category and their vote (e.g. "#suckerfreeawards #Bestcrew YMCMB").
